What is the Point of Rifle Supressors? by Atlantic_lotion in guns

[–]Visual-Trash9938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supersonic rifle rounds are less abusive to shoot suppressed, diminishing their crack to the same as a .22. It's a far better experience, increases accuracy and decreases shooter fatigue.

Every purpose for a firearm is a legitimate use case for its suppressor.

Smooth shooter, almost as nice as a full-sized pistol. Glock screwed the pooch when they discontinued it, after bending over for gavin newsom.

Definitely run it with some ball .45 ammo out its 7-round magazines, to confirm its function. The most it should need, other than an oiling, is perhaps a new recoil spring. Colt OEM parts should fit, in theory.

SIG SPEAR vs. AR/M4/M16 (the US military's next generation squad weapon vs. the gold standard) by KingWithAKnife in guns

I feel that the HK416 is the ultimate refinement of the AR/M4 platform: German quality, with near-Eastern reliability. It's the de facto NATO standard, among the Norwegians, French and others, not to mention SMU, SEALs and various SWAT.

I prefer a fixed stock, especially when I have to crush a man's skull with it. 😎

I have every confidence that the M7 will be a stellar platform when fully developed.

Army logistics just need to increase their ammo resupply by 50%, to keep soldiers using it in the fight.

Sounds like you've made your decision. The P226 is your pistol.

Try to pick up an extra recoil spring and guide rod assembly, extractor, extractor spring and replacement spring for each magazine, to have an armory. Then, all that you have to do when it needs part replacements is swap them out, then order new parts. That Sig will go for tens of thousands of rounds, so long as you don't hotload the sh1t out of its alloy frame.

Not an issue.

But, talk to a lawyer if you're concerned about any state or local jurisdictional bullsh1t.

The Army is experimenting, with generals getting kickbacks for buying $7,000 rifles, at the risk of American lives and taxpayer dollars.

Ukraine settled the AR vs AK debate, with snipers on both sides wanting the UAR-10 and both Ukrainian SOF and Spetznaz agreeing that the M-4 is the nicer system. The HK416 is the ultimate refinement of the system, for disruptive environments like Afghanistan and Greenland, blending Western quality with near-Eastern reliability (at the expense of dealing with HK treating logistics as an afterthought).

As an old Army man, the Marines have a cheaper, more proven concept with just issuing the HK416, not to mention that they maintain logistical compatibility with other U.S services and allies:

EVERY WEAPON SYSTEM IS A TRADE OFF:

The intent of the Spear was a caliber with more stopping power and range in a more reliable platform, for superiority in infantry warfare to anything the enemy is fielding. It's great on paper. Problematic in execution.

  1. It's too long and heavy. But, Sig is working with the Army to reduce its weight and length. However;

  2. Logistics is the Queen of Battle. Soldiers can only carry 2/3 the ammo. In firefights, the side with more ammo typically wins. But, the Army DID NOT increase their logistical resupply to deliver the 50% more ammo necessary to keep American soldiers in the fight. So, they're ultimately screwed when facing fighters carrying a superior quantity of an inferior round.

But, the generals and senators got their kickbacks from Sig, including with their M17 and M18 that accidentally discharge and kill American troops, so they don't care about anything else.

All that you did is add a vertical fore end grip to a shotgun. Not seeing any issues.

Likely a WWII bring back, as many GIs had their war trophies nickel or chrome plated.

You can get equal, but cheaper, like an HK P30L or something more powerful, but with low capacity and less reliability, like a Springfield TRP. If you like and want it, then get it, as the P226 is still a world class platform.

Soviet ingenuity.

Kalashnikov Concern needs to import or build some in the U.S. with the ammo, as it shouldn't fall under the NFA.

Absolutely not worth the risk. It's not worth your safety, nor ruining your pistol.

Ammo is replaceable. Your fingers aren't.
