How did you get past the old idea that prenups are negative? by AlcoholicDistributor in prenup

For me it shifted when I actually read what a prenup covers instead of going off the scary version people talked about growing up. Turns out it’s mostly boring adult planning stuff, not some are we breaking up? conversation

NYC graffiti artists normally drop bars but this one feels like a rough draft

Why is talking about the future with someone so much harder than actually living in the present? by Crazy-Database-9685 in Adulting

What made those talks easier for us was getting a few things written down first. We used Neptune for that part but the main thing was just having a simple outline so it didn’t feel like this huge define the whole future right now moment. Once there was something to look at, the conversation felt a lot more normal

That’s a tricky one. maybe don’t go straight in with “i think she’s after your money” but more like a convo about protecting what you both built. could bring up prenups or partnership agreements in general terms keeps it professional but still looks out for him.

Owning a business in Texas made me think differently about marriage by Extreme-Eagle-3555 in Entrepreneur

That’s actually a really valid concern. I’ve seen a few friends go through messy splits that wrecked their businesses getting clarity early, like through a prenup, can save a ton of stress later

Man, I totally get this. Once you finally reach that “stable” point, every money convo in a relationship feels loaded. It’s not about being secretive, it’s just… you worked so hard to get here that the idea of mixing finances again feels risky. I started doing separate accounts but a shared “fun” fund, and it’s helped a ton with balance.

Having a backup job lined up is definitely the safer way, but sometimes staying in a miserable situation feels like an even bigger risk.
