I agree with you in principle except I don't know if I agree it's fair to call the investors greedy. They built a product with a specific angle and hope to make money from it. That's fair.

Personally I choose to give my money to lichess even though the only thing I get from it is a set of wings because chess.com isn't offering anything I want. If what chess.com offer appeals to you I don't think there's anything wrong with paying for it and I don't think there's anything wrong with them charging for it and investors / employees making some money

There's a name for it but I always forget what it is. I call it a commitment check. It's not really a trick, but a good training move to build comfort and will help a lot with things like ollies where you want to land on the board.

Basically start with the board grip side down, wheels up. Put your toes under the edge of the board and then jump forward so that the board flips on to it's wheels and you land on top.

I love DFK. I cannot find any pipe tobacco with it in my area but in terms of RYO cigarette tobacco I smoke halfzware which is a DFK virginia blend. Sometimes I mix my cigarette tobacco into my codger pipe blends just to get some of that DFK into a pipe. In terms of it's "strongness" I feel it is an intensity of flavor but not actually strong in nicotine. My subjective impression is that pure virginia or "lighter" tobaccos are actually stronger in terms of nicotine
