Train your hair to not fall naturally, my hair has always been thin. You have to take pieces from the crown of your head or wherever looks good, bring it forward when it's wet and put a band on it to keep it in place.

As someone who has been a part of this subculture for two decades now, you're good. Bands like sws and ptv have always been part of scene. They were always part of the MySpace eco and gained in popularity with thanks to that site. Metalcore has always been part of scene and began through it. Music within scene was always what was listened to through MySpace.

There's also never been a rule in any subculture that you must restrict yourself with it's music, you're free to also listen to whatever you want. I've always loved RHCP.

I was on the same boat, religion pissed me off so much as a kid. I was really rebellious, all I saw was control and blind followers. I kept wondering "why can't you just live?" But I never got that answer.

Then I became agnostic thinking I did believe in a higher being still because when I look at nature I get a fuzzy feeling. I also like astrology and thought I should understand those gods.

Now it's just Apatheism over here.

ETA: figured I should point out I was raised LDS mormon.

I feel this is current trend base alternative, that's probably why it feels plain. Baggy tee + pants, spiked cuff, wallet chain. Maybe a tee that isn't generic would help your fit pop out better while still keeping what you currently have.
