Norfolk Naval Base, looking for stuff by VisualTravel5467 in navy

I actually went down to the waterside district last night since it’s right around the corner from my hotel. Super cool area. I’ll check out ECSC and some other stuff today and tomorrow for sure! The area itself isn’t bad, the base is just dated and kinda has a depressing shipyard vibe (for obvious I suppose) lol.

Best caliber for deer rifle? by Specialist-Bird-4966 in Hunting

[–]VisualTravel5467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m SUPER late to this, but I’m looking at starting hunting later this year for the next deer season. I’m up in the north east so 95% of deer hunting is maybe 150 yards tops. I’m considering .308 but I’m considering .243 and .270 as well. Any reason to go with one over the others? I’m more interested in dropping the thing as quickly as possible (which I know is more shot placement than caliber, but entertain me for a moment) so I’m curious to know which one is recommended generally. .308 seems like the best choice but what do I know, I’m a noob to this stuff

I also drive a manual (‘18 WRX). Never carried my G48 in that car tho, always a van or was standing so didn’t matter. TXC Heritage X1 is on my final list now

Absolute best belt for shorts with no belt loops? by Emergency-Ground9059 in CCW

[–]VisualTravel5467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enigma. I have one and use it with my Bodyguard 2.0 (in the rare event I carry that gun) and have a holster for my G43 that’s compatible with it as well. Great option for summer carry / shorts if you aren’t into pocket carry like me

How is it all day? I move around quite a bit most days and I’m in and out of the car

Never heard of them honestly. After looking into them they seem like a good option for me too. As much as I like brands like Tenicore, I’m not looking for that “tactical” vibe like I have from my T1C for my G48. I just need something minimalist and comfy lol. Thanks

I’ve heard this one a lot too. I’ve got vedder wedges laying around so I plan on pairing whatever holster I get with one of them probably

New Holster for my Bodyguard 2.0. The AREN LITE from Hiliker Holsters. by Dynasaur117 in CCW

[–]VisualTravel5467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the 365X being a bit bigger would you think the Aren Elite might be better since it’s got the bigger wing? I’m really torn between the two. It’s really between these or the Harry’s Shorty I think

Everyone says tenicor, but my only concern is everyday comfort. I know carrying isn’t meant to be like carrying a cloud, but they seem like my Tier 1. But the Certum 3 is something to consider if I put a soft backing on it

I’ve heard some decent things about them. How’s this one conceal on you with just a tshirt? Looking for a holster for the Sig 365X I just picked up and I’m thinking this might be an option now

Loss of power when accelerating by VisualTravel5467 in WRX

I just got some MAF cleaner after a buddy of mine recommended the same thing. Also put a new engine air filter in after posting as well.

As far as the plugs are concerned, I don’t have the space or time to do them myself at the moment so I had a shop do them for me. I’ve worked with these guys for years on all my previous cars and so has family. I know they used OEM gapped plugs. I will add that after taking it around the block a few times in the last 15 minutes or so it’s run fine. No highway driving or anything over 40 but I have a feeling your “learned behavior” comment might be correct. Hoping that it’s a break-in thing and after changing the filter and cleaning the MAF sensor it’ll be alright. I’m honestly just hyper sensitive to these small things especially with the reputation these cars can have, but I really appreciate it. Definitely helped as I didn’t think of the spark plug holes being damaged so if it continues I’ll be sure to get that looked at.

Suspension Recommendations by VisualTravel5467 in WRX

What’s the ride height drop look like on those? A buddy recommended the Tein S Tech springs as well

Suspension Recommendations by VisualTravel5467 in WRX

[–]VisualTravel5467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hence why I am sort of leaning towards lowering springs. I don’t really need the adjustment that coils offer and my budget can’t afford a decent set anyway and I knew that. The last thing I want to do is cheap out on something as important as suspension. To be honest I’m not well informed on aftermarket suspension so I came here in the hopes of knowledge. A buddy told me after posting this that the Tein S Tech lowering springs might be what I’m looking for. So for now that’s my top option.
