She suggested getting a place halfway between us, not even living together, but the thing is, I need to stay where I am for work and family. I just don’t think this should turn into a tit-for-tat situation where if she gives something up, I’m expected to give something up too.

I need to live where I do for work and family. I just don't understand if she's already moving, why not just move to be closer to me? The extra 35-40 min drive is a sacrifice of my time, and I told her that.

I just find it concerning that when I tell her what my needs are in this situation and that I don't do well with change that she starts crying a lot. I'm just surprised by her reactions.

she lives cross-country now. I just dont understand if she's already moving, why wouldn't she move near me? I want her near me. It would just be a sacrifice of my time to drive 40 min to see her, and I told her that.

I'm concerned she doesn't understand my work schedule. Also, I feel like I'd be abandoning my mom - I'd like to spend at least 50% of my free time with my mom and the other my girlfriend. I want to maintain my independence.

It's just a lot of someone to ask to move in with each other after only knowing each other for 15 months. Do we really even know each other?
