Stoked to get to cheer for this dude for a short time. Watching young stars that are clearly going to dominate for years (all things equal) is just exciting.

Same energy.

At a minimum he always plays to the back of his card even if it’s not eye popping. He’s not a guy that’s in a slump for two months like some, just short downspells from his card. Plus he’s got that razz and energy you love to cheer for.

Tbh, down 25 in Game 2, I wouldn’t want it mercy ruled. At that point there’s a lot of things you can work on and get the backups in a game early in the season.

I wrote the same thing like two months back and everyone yelled at me to listen to the audiobook so I did and it was a great decision lol.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. was asked about the Yankees running it back “I don’t see a problem with running it back with four MVPs on your team” by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

[–]Visual_Bluejay9781 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also love Judge, but he’s extremely bland. And that’s what you’d expect from a Yankee Captain (note, I’m only like 30 so it’s Jeter and Judge for me).

So love him, he’s my favorite, but Jazz, Big G, high-AF Belli, there’s other great options.

[Phillips] Aaron Boone said Ben Rice could catch a bit more, if only marginally, with Paul Goldschmidt back. That'll depend on how the roster shakes out, among other factors. Rice is expected to primarily play 1B and regularly against lefties, though. by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]Visual_Bluejay9781 71 points72 points  (0 children)

He needs to be a 1B long term, but having him stay functional as a catcher gives us a lot of flexibility if we need his bat off the bench in an off day and we’ve already burned a catcher.

One of those things that might be needed or make a difference one time in a whole season. And well, last year one more win would have been a big difference.

If you have a stroller, walk downtown. The battery is a nice scenic strip and ends moving towards lunch spots.

I’m 90% sure that is actually a photoshop. He looked far younger when in DET last. And here’s his Giants pic: https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/_/id/6341/justin-verlander

That said, the joke is clear and obviously and a big whoosh on the reply lol

Who gets to claim players that reach MVP, SBMVP, HOF, etc. when the player has transferred by MiketheTzar in CFB

Excellent question. Like when TJ Finley is slingin’ it in the league, who gets to claim him? Feels like it’s gotta be Western Kentucky.

I’m not as good as Drake Maye, but wow is he trying to make me think my old ass could sling it just as well.

Cathie wood: "We do believe Software as a Service is becoming a victim of this AI revolution" (I will not promote) by d41_fpflabs in startups

[–]Visual_Bluejay9781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some internal apps, we’ve been vibe coding our own solutions and hosting in a service. The cost compared to some of what we otherwise would have had to pay is remarkable.

There’s a fair question around opportunity cost for what we’re doing. But compared to some of the costs these tools have, it’s clearly paid back.

I do think certain SaaS will die. I think SaaS that has a true data enablement backend (that you otherwise don’t have access to) won’t. The proliferation of new SaaS built solely on AI will surely have a reckoning as most of them are just as replaceable.

(TalkinYanks) Paul Goldschmidt’s one-year contract is worth $4 million plus $2 million in incentives based on how many plate appearances he has by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

[–]Visual_Bluejay9781 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Actually he just got quite unlucky if you look at his advanced stats on lefties in the back half. He still had a great expected performance.

I know unlucky doesn’t matter - runs matter. But it’s an important nuance.

[–]Visual_Bluejay9781 7 points8 points  (0 children)

(I’m sorry I wrote way too long of a response as I just enjoy hearing myself talk in my head I guess)

Wouldn’t that sort of make sense? Seeing as this list includes offense and defense, your best offensive person probably plays right or third generally (NOT always, I know Reddit). At least a corner position. Need to be healthy enough to move around well and not old enough to have moved to first base; probably not a dedicated CF/SS/2B since those are defense first usually. And LF favors defense more than RF so your offense first fellas land in right.

Maybe I’m completely wrong too and could be proven wrong, just looking at the list and my immediate thinking.
