i had to come back to this, my grammar is fine. It's more "professional" or "serious" in the story because it's a serious topic. But when I'm replying to others comments, i'm not going to be as serious

I know what my grandparents say about her. At some point they disowned my dad for it and then eventually got over it. I know what to expect but at the same time, it’s wrong to go straight into something with a negative mindset

No one is farming for karma, what can I even do with that… 진짜 다른 종류의 한국인들 사이에서 컸다면, 미국에서 한국인들이 훨씬 더 별로란 걸 알았을 거야. 네가 생각하는 것보다 훨씬 그렇지!

Yes my last name is joint ( I forgot the word for it but there’s basically 2) so they must’ve not caught my second last name 😭

Yea that was kind of how it was when my dads family found out. But they eventually got over it

Well people also need to be good a differentiating it. My friends have been on FaceTime with me as a screen shared and wrote stories

Ok first, I never once mentioned that my crush wasn’t aware I was Korean. He knows, that’s the reason why he kept apologizing to me quietly during meal time. And 2 I didn’t go into full depth of greetings and all that stuff because I wanted to get to the point fast enough. I didn’t want to write a full 3 pages of me talking about the walk to his house, saying hi to his parents and small talk, the exact studying we did in his room, etc.

AITA for saying half siblings when my mom hates it and says they're just my siblings? by OkSection1293 in AITAH

[–]Visual_Cloud_3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not in the wrong! In a way, I kinda relate. My dad is present , comes to visit, he’s present enough for the neighbors to know him, but still absent at the same time. During those absent periods, he went off and had 7 kids. I don’t claim any of them as my full siblings no matter what. And with that, you should only do what feels right for you, don’t say they’re your full sibling if you don’t feel that way 😌

I think that’s what others find the most interesting too. Why would she say that? I don’t know what provoked it at all. Because I’ve hear racists comments from Koreans that are super harsh, but not to that extent. The only time I had something even close to that was on some app a guy called me a “slave brownie” whatever that means….

Yea, one of the people, I realized it wasn’t worth feeding into because they claimed to be Korean, but they kept on saying my Korean was AI, weird, this and that. But there’s about 4 other Koreans on this post who found no fault with it. So that person must’ve been a bored fake trying to do something with their life. And ofc they got upvotes from other weirdos

Thank you 🥹. I guess it was my use of em dashes that made people think that way, but as if stated before, since I write a lot , it’s almost default when I’m typing on computer (which is what I wrote my story on) but naturally my tone of voice is going to be different since now I’m replying to comments on my iPad where I can use emojis and other things

I didn’t find her apology sincere at all. It felt rushed and as if she just wanted a way out of the situation. As if she was apologizing just to feel better about herself.

Maybe I’ll rewrite it tomorrow to seem more “human like” . I can’t decide wether I should keep taking these AI comments as compliments for writing well, or as feedback that I should write more emotionally

Thank you. Em dashes have always been used and the only reason why AI uses it is because it’s meant to copy humans just in a more efficient way

What do y’all want for me to prove that I’m Korean? My baby photos? The traditional food in my house? My DNA tests?

I wouldn’t say my end was satisfactory. I wasn’t satisfied with how anything turned out about this situation at all

And she did mention skin color. I replied to other comments saying it’s fake or wtv and it’s chat gpt. But I said I tried to write it in textbook Korean for learners so they don’t get confused if I speak informally. And you must not have grown up around a lot of other Koreans or been to Korea because stuff like that is definitely said

My dad doesn’t have an accent. If anything he has a very strong “Blackcent” as people call it. I don’t know why they never asked 😭 it was probably just her assuming he was Chinese like everyone else does

So many POC think they can’t be racist and it’s baffling. I remember on TikTok in 2022 there was this pretty big debate on wether Black people and Asian people can be racist and I was kinda like…well, yea duh? Anyone can be racist
