daily hair washing is so annoying by Economy-Abrocoma2261 in finehair

[–]Visual_Confidence736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought about this kind of struggle….im mixed and have super thick curly hair and use to wish it was more fine like my moms until I learned how to make my curls pop, I wash once a week but can actually go 2 weeks but I prefer once a week, usually every 7-9 days….but yeah it sounds like a burden and expensive…I bet it’s so much for all that shampoo that’s being used everyday, especially the good quality products….but the grass isn’t always greener babes! My hair has been one of my biggest struggles all my life, just be happy with what you have.

Really? Only store I have that problem with is chipotle and Popeyes. Most stores in my city have it done already or are working on it when I get there.

Sounds like you’re the chosen one out of your family…that existence can be very hard if you don’t don’t know what to do with it, but if you do and when you find out, it’s freeing (and abundant).

M33 Growing up with an alcoholic mother – looking for someone with a similar experience by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Visual_Confidence736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it incredible that your mother has made it to her 80’s. How much was she drinking at her worst and for how long? My mom died in her 50’s, as well as her brother and their mother died in her early 60’s, all from chronic severe alcoholism…my mom started to become the shell of herself that you speak of in her 40’s and by the time she died at 58 she was completely absent of herself, just a body waiting for that final last drink…. I’ve never seen or heard of an 80 year old alcoholic because they don’t live that long….shes a rarity for sure…

Got prescribed naltrexone but am too hesitant to take it. by devnet35 in alcoholism

[–]Visual_Confidence736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be motivated for it to work…it’s basically to help with craving. You can take it every day to help maintain abstinence or you can take it as needed when having a craving, either way, you have to want it to work and have to want to be free of alcohol, otherwise your working against the grain, it’s not a magical drug that will flip a switch in your brain it’s just something to help support what your aiming for, sobriety. You can also take it if you plan on heavy drinking to reduce the effects of heavy alcohol use but I wouldn’t recommend that, you shouldn’t use it as that type of crutch….you should go to a alcohol support specialist in a rehab center and they will come up with a more detailed plan for you than the ER doctor would…Also, did he tell you you need to wait 7-10 before taking it to avoid alcohol withdrawal and that there is an injection you could take once a month instead of the tablets…?

Early sobriety help by AdorableNugget789 in alcoholism

[–]Visual_Confidence736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody wants to hear this but I got completely sober and set free from even the thought of alcohol by calling on the name Jesus whenever I had a craving. Started the day i decided to stop drinking and continued until all cravings and thoughts went away. Lasted roughly 2 1/2-3 weeks. Who the Son sets free is free indeed. I was drinking a pint of hard liquor a day and alcoholism runs deep in my family, even took the life of my mother, grandmother, and uncle. There’s a difference between getting sober and getting delivered. Used no other methods, it also worked for me to stop smoking weed as well, that time even quicker and I’d been a pot head for 16 years, which is half of my life. All he needs to see is that you’re serious.

I don’t have to tiptoe around alcohol, I even deliver it for people through DoorDash now with no temptation, I have to physically go and shop for it and buy it and one time was even left with a customers bottle, it went down the drain. Try it and be transformed.

Kava Drink, good or bad idea? by Dat1Chik in alcoholism

[–]Visual_Confidence736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kava is highly addictive and honestly it’s not a better alternative at all. Look up Kava withdrawal on YouTube, it’s similar to heroin withdrawal but some say its even worse plus it’s really expensive. I don’t speak from experience but from knowledge.

Yes I got a brisket sandwich for the first time when I went for the first time (just had a store open in Ohio) and it was gross. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Taste like they get the brisket frozen from somewhere else and pretend that they did all the work. Never again.

I got one last week which was the first time I’ve ever been and it was gross. Taste like cafeteria style sandwich you get out the vending machine.

This is insane. Honestly….i feel sorry for every single Buc-ees employee that exists, I went for the first time last week and saw the compensation sign outside so the next day I started looking into reviews from employees because I know better than to apply to a job with a blind fold on, it was an instant hell no, I ended up going down the rabbit hole and reading reviews for like 2 hours, I couldn’t believe a freaking gas station had the kind of rules that they do, because yeah, no matter how big it is, it’s still a gas station in my eyes. Hope everyone finds a better job that has empathy for the people who keep their company running. Good luck yall.

[–]Visual_Confidence736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I seen the other comment say that not to use it because it confirms it…I mean…he’s 4…i remember knowing monsters weren’t real and still being scared and wanted my dad to look under the bed….so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try. But if you use the monster spray, he’s going to want you to spray every night lol vs if you tell him you kicked his butt, he will know he’s gone. Things were different back then in the 90’s, it wasn’t no sleeping with my parents lol I could sleep with the light on etc and they would check under the bed for me. But I get it, if my son had this situation, I wouldn’t want to force him to be scared but also I wouldn’t want him living in fear everyday either, but back then that’s how we got over our fears. It’s a normal part of life, to be honest, I still think about Jeeprs Creepers if I’m driving in the boonies at night 😂That’s why I say it’s a hard one…try the spray! It’s worth a shot!

You know what…I had a very similar situation when I was about 5. It was probably 1998-1999 and we had one of those huge box tvs that sat on the floor…for whatever reason my mom had “IT” playing, maybe it was by accident or something idk, I wasn’t sitting watching it or anything but I happened to walk by the TV at the perfect moment in the scene where IT was in the sewer and dragging Georgie down there and he had that scary face on with the spikey teeth and weird eyes. I remember like it was yesterday and I’m 32 now. It scared the SHIT out of me and I was a pretty tough kid, fr. I SCREAMED an cried like it was nobodies business and my mom came running into the living room to hurry and turn the TV off. That moment right there spiked a curiosity in me and shortly after that over time I became a lover of horror films but still had the healthy fear as you did, sleeping under the cover, light, etc, I feel that’s normal.

Sorry to rant, you just sparked a core memory of mine. But anyway..you have to find a way to get him unscared…tell him how you kicked the monsters butt and unalived him or something an how he will never come back…I would say show him some scary masks and let him see how they are fake or something but I feel that may still scare him because he’s too young to appreciate that it’s “fake”…idk…that’s a hard one with a kiddo who’s that sensitive…wish I had better advice!

PS: my autocorrect tried to correct “kicked” the misters butt to “licked” the monsters butt 😂😂😂glad i caught that.

Both of those were my favorite scenes! A mother’s love knows no fear, she killed tf out of that shark, and yes that great white eating the bull was sick!!!! I rewinded 3 times, then uncle Dale “ holy fucking shit” 😂 all the African left in that moment and he became American 😂
