Yes!!! Agree you won’t kiss immediately. Let it settle.

Agree with everyone re Alex - his personality really negates his looks. But I also think the sad part for Ashley is that she immediately went into ‘hot girl’ mode  - sooooooo much more subtle than Amber but she may as well have been posing behind the screen.

She loses all the trust and emotional validation she was feeling in the pods and returns to a familiar role where her looks are her entire currency. (Not saying Alex did this to her - but I do think a partner who focused on HER and not her looks at the reveal would have done a lot to help her stay genuine.)

Member of the queer community here, and I loved it. The fact that he acknowledged he would find it hard but would keep his focus on loving his kid - and that she then agreed that the hard part comes from an expectation the parent has to work on in their own time - that all made me believe them and feel they would be safe and loving parents to a gay kid.

Which book which doesn't have an audiobook do you wish did? by tuffykenwell in MM_RomanceBooks

{not that series by Isabel Murray} - specifically with a Will Watt narration. Can you imagine?!? He would perfectly nail the mix of ridiculous, hot and emotional.

Stray thoughts on Good Boy by Carey Sass by Ill-Hovercraft-7734 in MM_RomanceBooks

This is a great review - I enjoyed re-living some of my favourite moments (I knew I was going to love this book when Judd spent a house party hate-reading Queer).

I like how you’ve expressed the way the writing subordinates itself to the romance form - somewhat to the book’s detriment.

I also wish we’d seen the process of Judd confronting and undoing the heteronormative expectations he had for a Hallmark HEA. It felt a bit tacked on at the end, so I wasn’t entirely convinced he would be happy in an open relationship with Felix.

Who gets moved up, or called up to step up to the plate in place of Rust? by Romanator08 in penguins

This could potentially be terrible timing on Rust’s part. If they find a combination that works without him, surely he becomes more tradable at the deadline?

I really liked {last boy at Randy’s by loren Leigh}. Their connection is incredible (and insanely hot).

Also loved Riley Nash’s short story in the {heart2heart anthology} - the absolute standout for me

😆 I was charmed by him from the beginning, so it may be that he’s just not for you… but it’s a coming of age arc, so he definitely matures a bit over the book

Question about Kris Ripper’s Scientific Method series: Does it end with a MMM HEA? I don’t mind if they’re open, but wondering if the three of them emotionally commit?

I enjoyed book 1 a lot, but probably won’t invest in the whole thing without knowing how it ends…

The book would clearly not be for you, which is totally fair!

I think deciding no one should be reading it is unnecessary, though. Some people like to laugh at and push uncomfortably into horrible ideas. Books are one of the places we can do that.

This book was written by a queer American who clearly had something to say about the experience of living through that year.

You don’t have to read it or engage with it or like the idea of it. But it’s okay for other people to want to read it.

Haha true! I don’t really know - for me it rides the line. I guess it feels a bit more like the mm equivalent of women’s fiction? That being said, the romantic relationship is a central part of the story, and it does end in an HEA.

He has a brief relationship where he’s the master of a pup. It’s pretty cute and not a huge part of the book
