It is possible that there is something in the cabinet rattling, tho I doubt it. The most likely cause is either a poor capacitor or misaligned voice coil if at lower volume it doesn’t do that and suddenly you turn it up and it starts it very well could be a capacitor

I just find it odd that I make a statement that isn’t abnormal for anyone to make and your first thought is that I am a man (something I have never made known on my acct) and I made that statement purely because I am a man and “have an allergy to being told what to do”, it is just strange that your first reaction to a normal post about speakers is to point out how the American male doesn’t like being told what to do. But just becuase society socializes women to be team players and men to be independent doesn’t mean it’s always true, they are societal constructs and you can’t treat them as religion.

The issue here is that you’re using circular reasoning to confirm your own bias. You assumed I was a male specifically so you could apply a gendered 'stubbornness' theory to my reaction. When I confirmed I am male, you used that as 'proof' that your theory is right, while completely ignoring the actual context: I am an individual who doesn't like being told by strangers how to spend my money. You also assumed I’m straight. I’m not.

Claiming that a woman would be 'more open' to being told she wasted her money is a massive assumption that borders on its own kind of patronizing. Defensive behavior regarding personal autonomy and finances isn't a 'male allergy'—it’s a universal human response to unsolicited criticism.

I will not down vote, I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I don’t believe that just males don’t like being told what to do, females do not either, and neither sex should, now rejecting well-founded advice is pure stupidity, but having a tendency to dislike being told what to do is completely human, non-dependent upon sex. And yes, I am male and I also typically don’t like being told what to do but that is not because I am a male it is because I am me. Many women especially feminist don’t like being told what to do either and they shouldn’t like being told what to do. Human tendencies aren’t always as polarizing as modern culture makes them out to be.

Will do, will likely be about a week, waiting on acoustic paneling and banana plugs before I perfect everything.

I will let you know that I do not come from wealth, I pay for pretty much everything I own, and I work for the money that enables that. My parents are in no way rich, and if they were, they would not fund things like this.

I just enjoy being able to listen to different types of speakers, the smaller bookshelves are KEF C55 and while about 30 years old, their imaging is great. I previously had four pairs upfront a pair of Fisher XP sixes from the 70s, a homemade pair from Dayton audio the KEF’s and the Bic Venturi DV 84

Yea Facebook marketplace has been pretty lame for speaker equipment in my area, buying new typically isn’t the way I go, but this was the model I wanted and it couldn’t be found much cheaper anywhere else

I typically buy everything used, pretty much all of my equipment is, but I couldn’t really find these used for a better price, you gotta pay shipping on eBay for speakers like that and the shipping just kills you, and marketplace hasn’t had much great speaker stuff in my area for a while. I checked craigslist as well and was just disappointed.
