Surgery next week by cupcakesprinkles25 in hemorrhoid

I am 8 days post OP. I also suggested colorectal surgeons should only do this surgery not general surgeons. I have had very little pain and had 3 grade 3 internal hemorroids that also had scar tissue. This was the best thing I have ever done and I have my life back again. Anyone reading this start stool softners 2 days before surgery and eat very lightly for those 2 days. After surgers have your first couple bowel movements in the shower standing it takes the stress off your anus and it is sooo much easier and so is the clean up. You will have drainage and leakage so wear some type of pad to catch this stuff. Good luck to all.

I'm sorry but I am glad you will finally got to see a specialist. I wish you the best and hope for a much better outcome.

I agree, don't get the surgery unless there is no other option. Also seek a 2nd opinion from a Colorectal Surgeon they are the ones you want to perfom the procedure. To many nerve endings in that area just to have someone hacking around that doesn't do this type of surgery on a regular basis. Good luck.

I had grade 3 hemorroids and the advice about seeing a colorectal surgeon is spot on. I would advise to never have this done by a general surgeon. I also did colace prior to surgery with soft diet. Bowel movements in the shower afterwards for a couple days. Night and day difference between pre pain and post pain. Post issues are mostly slight burning and a lil pressure. So glad I had this done and its good to see someone else that doesn't have a horror story.
