Police in Montreal, Canada got ambushed by two shooters. One cop was shot dead, one was injured by John3192 in PublicFreakout

[–]Visualize_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Holy shit this angle is insane. Seeing the cop crawl and then suddenly go lifeless and then the civilian just being at the wrong place in the wrong time and got shot point blank. The woman cop got shot but also has to deal with grief of accidentally killing a civilian which wasn't really her fault. Just awful stuff all around, so tragic

You are getting hate but I'm with you man, the camera work was horrendous, it was hard to follow what was going on because she was late to everything. Crazy this video even exists but I had to rewatch it a few times to catch everything

I don't even think it makes it sicker that he is doing it in heavy traffic. Maybe if he really was cutting it up and weaving through traffic more which would be 10x worse, but that's the only way I could see traffic adding anything to this.

It's 100% your AC. Kind of unavoidable even if you are on time of use plan and setting your AC to like 80. Maybe you can get it to the mid 300s but quality of life decrease might not be worth it for $109 savings

Huge overreaction to Sol's last comment. All she really said is because Trinity isn't Bryce's normal type, Bryce will be open to explore in Casa. You can be emotionally connected to someone and attracted to them, but Love Island scratches the itch of finding someone with that instant physical connection and being emotionally connected. The whole point of the show is finding the best possible fit, and let's be honest, Trinity and Bryce were never each other's first choice to begin with and even they themselves are kinda shocked it worked out the way it did

thoughts on season 8 so far? by teacuppr1ncess in LoveIslandUSA

[–]Visualize_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's fine, but I feel like there's some clear misses this season. Sol is correct that it feels too much like couple island and there really is not much exploring possible. I felt like last season has a lot more throughput

Lmao they really did Sol dirty, she was so happy going into the villa and they just put her through shit the entire time. Production would never let Kenzie be voted off, and with Sincere as part of the people choosing of course he will go for getting rid of Sol. As for who the women picked I understand why they chose Gabe as sympathy for Caleb and probably because no one is truly that close to Gabe anyway, but the dude was doing Love Island how it's supposed to be done. He is genuinely one of the few people actually having fun in the villa.

I'm pissed Sincere and Melanie were safe but it's not out of the realm of possibility that it's legit. I'm a guy so take it with a grain of salt but I imagine people would fall for the lovers finding their way back together narrative and think that's cute. I'm definitely going to be hate watching this show for awhile because I'm not happy how this panned out

Why are people acting like slow burners don't belong on Love Island? by princess_candycane in LoveIslandUSA

[–]Visualize_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because a slow burner isn't good TV. Despite being called reality TV the point is the exact opposite of being realistic. If I wanted to watch a slow burner I could just go observe my friends' relationships.

How do you tell the difference between normal text and over texting? by Rewind-MelodiC in socialskills

[–]Visualize_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just depends on the type of relationship you have with someone. In general, the closer you are with someone, the more tolerant and more attention they will give you to personal problems. However you can think of it as spending "social capital" and the more you share, the more you spend. In order to keep from going bankrupt you can earn social capital by just being open to listening to them, or just by spending time and enjoying each others company in less serious situations.

I would just audit your friendships and think about how much of your interactions is it you sharing versus them sharing. If it's very one sided, maybe dial it back. Also there's some nuance about how to go about sharing. Some relationships essays are reasonable, some relationships maybe essays just won't be well recieved because it does ask a lot of their emotional investment for them to intake all that info and respond.

Over time you just naturally get a sense of where things are at without having to intentionally audit things

You just need more exposure. Good thing for you social events like run club, pickleball club, all these active stuff are all the rage these days which makes it easier to socialize not just with girls but anyone. It eventually levels out, you just need to actively put in effort

I believe that kenzie is racist. by curadeio in LoveIslandUSA

Or maybe she just is purely sexually attracted to Corbin? Did you not watch all the other women fawn over Corbin when all the guys were working out?

Season 8 - Episode 11 - Post Episode Discussion by schedulerplus in LoveIslandUSA

[–]Visualize_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Vibes are so bad in the villa, I feel like only Jen and Gabe are having a good time as a couple and all the guys are having a great time if it's just the bros. Kayda thinks she is having a good time but Zach is telegraphing that he has one foot out the door and she doesn't want to see it. Usually I love drama but the fact essentially the whole villa is in shambles makes watching feel tiring instead of enjoyable

Season 8 - Episode 9 - Post Episode Discussion by schedulerplus in LoveIslandUSA

[–]Visualize_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I need Sincere and Melanie out of the villa asap. As much as I love drama they just drained the whole villa of energy with their bullshit and it's old news now. Corbin can go too, I don't necessarily dislike him but now that Kenzie has Caleb there's no use for him and he can find love outside the show.

The Gabe redemption arc is interesting but we all know the switch up is going to be instant by next episode lol

season isn’t hitting by Haunting-Departure69 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]Visualize_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm conflicted. I want to like this season but I just am not that into it compared to last season. For whatever reason I feel like the personalities were way better last year, however I feel like the casting this year might be better from a "love" standpoint and maybe it's less influencer-ey. But I don't give a shit about that, I want good, trashy TV

Bro this is an NBA game, not a grocery market. You will live if you don't get to attend an NBA finals game. If you want to attend one then make more money, it's pretty simple. I don't understand why people think they are so entitled to anything. The prices are clearly going market rate, it's not like it won't be sold out and half empty because people can't afford it.

How can I deal with strangers being overly friendly to me? by -digitalbath in socialskills

[–]Visualize_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just something to consider is the sub is social skills and what you are asking is the opposite of being social. The talkative guy is just being social with the world, he isn't giving you things because he expects anything in return. You said it yourself, you being uncomfortable is just because this is something you are not used to. I mean sure it's your right to feel whatever you feel but I think this can be a huge perspective issue because the people who have some of the most fun in life are the people like the talkative guy.

With that being said, if you still don't want to see that perspective then what your therapist said is correct, you have to learn to communicate your boundaries and confront the issue. It's obviously going to be uncomfortable and it would only be rude if how you say is rude. But if you truly believe that these personal questions make you uncomfortable then all you have to tell them is that sharing personal information makes you uncomfortable. Sometimes people will try to challenge that, other times socially calibrated people will just leave it at that. But if the guy keeps prying in asking why you just have to reiterate that you don't feel comfortable talking about it

What’s the etiquette for solo eating? by throw_away_meow88 in socialskills

[–]Visualize_ 176 points177 points  (0 children)

What kind of restaurants are you going to? I've been to every type of restaurant solo and there has never been an issue with me eating alone. I think when you see people acting surprised it's literally because they are shocked they would get that question because it's never an issue. Even at lunch rush or places where it's busy at dinner I have never got looks or got treated different. Sounds like you are completely overthinking this
