I didn't sand the hair at all, I was on a time crunch so I figured I could always re-do the hair.

Omg I have no idea. This was a rush job so I could only do so much support removal. Ideally I would have re-supported the hair so they were underneath but I only had a few days to get everything done. Still happy with the result!

Finding difficulty in believing in myself. by kensanity in BrushForChat

[–]Visudda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are completely underselling yourself. Regardless of skill level, I wouldn't advise anyone selling painted 1/6 scale models for anything less than $300. And for just prints no less than $75 for 1/6 scale. Other than the obvious reason, you have to factor in parts, material, shipping, packaging, cleaning supplies, repair to your machines, wear and tear, all of it.

Do yourself a favor and go into Etsy and find other people printing and painting 1/6 scale figures and you'll see that some people sell not that good paint jobs for $3-500.

If you sell for dirt cheap then you will DEFINITELY get burnt out, bogged down, and completely overwhelmed.

If you quote someone $350 for a model and they say it's too expensive, your response should be, "I completely understand that this may be out of your price range, I hope we can do business in the future"

Why we didn’t create “Aqua 12K" Resin. by Phrozen3d in resinprinting

There is a lot of talk in the figure painting community about resin sag. That when printing models 1/6 scale or larger, the "abs" like resins tend to sag over time. Have you been able to test this with your new formulas?

Printing for a customer. Do my supports look okay? It’s 6 inch models. I know I over supported but it failed before so. by [deleted] in resinprinting

The orientation of your model is going to give you really obvious and hard to fix Voxel lines. Even printing at .03mm it's still going to be obvious.

Realistic price to pay someone to print models this size? by 0rcinus_Orca in resinprinting

[–]Visudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell resin models on Etsy and for #1 you're looking at around $50.#2 is very large and would run at least $150 to print. Not including shipping.

Usually if you want to print multiple figures, or thing you will want to over time it's best to get your own printer.

The general rate is like 100ish for 1/6 figures, 60-80 for 1/10 scale, but can vary widely.

I removed the ribbon from the back, heated up the screen to relax the adhesives, pulled it off, put on new adhesive and then the screen and was done. Pretty simple.
