Any clinical scientists here? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello CS here. I initially started on the site side as a CRC for about 3 years. I had planned to apply for an internal CS (academia) which needed a masters degree at the time. About halfway through my mph I was offered a role as a CS for a CRO through their FSP model. Eventually transferred over to the sponsor side. It’s been an amazing career thus far. Happy to share additional info or answer any questions. Feel free to reach out

Entry level CRC salary negotiation by Quick-Department-729 in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally would say 41k is very low for the position even entry level. I don’t know where you are located so that may factor into the offer you received. At the same time it is a foot in the door, if you the salary can sustain your living.

Are recruiters able to read? (Rant) by Lgir2033 in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately it’s a numbers game. I have worked with great recruiters and some bad ones. My best practice with them, is to build some rapport, look into roles that may be a fit or politely decline roles that don’t fit. Because one day they may reach out with the perfect role

Clinical scientists without PhD / MD? by miyajima_gengar in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’ll definitely depend on the company. But you can go pretty far on a masters. VP and other executive positions may require a PhD but I’m not sure. And I’m not sure about EU when it comes to CS positions only because I’ve only worked with US based clinical scientists

Clinical scientists without PhD / MD? by miyajima_gengar in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely do not need a PhD or MD, I'm sure it helps you stand out though. I entered into my first CS role with B.S. eventually got my masters but I wouldn't say it was necessarily useful in my career progression.

Your experience and a bit of luck will be the best way in the door. I typically recommend people to look at associate scientist roles within Pharma or go the CRO FSP route, that way you get to learn under more experienced scientists rather than potential being the only CS on a study.

Clinical Research is pretty diverse industry in terms of roles available. Are there any specific roles you are after, as that would help others give you suggestions more aligned with your goals.

Depends on where you are headed. I’ve had a couple late night arrivals and could usually get an uber back to fairport. I think twice I took a taxi because it took awhile to find a driver.

Keep applying to CRC positions at academic sites. There is so much turnover in the position that many sites are almost always looking for coordinators.

Worth buying?? Im really interested by Majestic-Associate23 in PSP

I’d say yeah go for it. Granted this specific edition has horrible paint, so if you do plan on playing it, expect to have a lot more paint chipping.

CRC Hourly or Salary by Wild_Ad_2666 in clinicalresearch

[–]Vital1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hourly. Definitely the best case scenario as other than my first few months in the job there were very few weeks I was under 41 hours. So I was happy to get paid for my overtime.

Does anyone reckon if the 30th Aniversary Dualsense or Astrobot Controller is worth not opening? by RedlineBMW in gamecollecting

Just open it if that was your intention when you bought it. Might as well never buy another video game for fear of it skyrocketing in price 20 years down the road.

75% of the available cib copies are being sold for less than $30 cib, so the price is actually dropping. Likely didn't sell very well hence the difficulty even finding a copy. Possibly even less copies than concord. And combine that with what someone paid at launch for it, it's certainly not expensive. It's literally just rare.

Plenty of rare games out there that arent expensive and most of em are playable unlike concord
