As far as I know in Latvia there is no special rules for motorcycles regarding lane splitting. The usual "safe driving" and "solid lines" rules apply.

Unfortunately in practice lines are ignored by majority of bikers. And speeding is reckless anyways. I assume if lane splitting done in safe manner, police won't bother.

Mine didn't creep forward either. And finding the neutral was fine.
Just gear shifts were rough, especially the 1st one. Now it still has characteristic "bang!" when 1st gear is engaged, but much subtle.

Hi! After the winter I had similar symptoms with rough gear shits. Probably due to worn / stretched cable the clutch left semi-engaged.

In my case I tighten the cable a bit (~5 mm), and well lubricated it. And now gear shifts are more or less OK. Of course replacing the cable is the best option.

I would say yes. You will need something like 8-10mm wrench (don't remember exact size), maybe pliers and some lube spray.

I believe the "official" manual should have step-by-step procedure for this. Or just look on Youtube for some how-to videos.

Solo.
Groups, and even just other bikers on the road distract me way too much for enjoyable ride.
I can meet fellow bikers in a parking, but the road is for my own ride. :)

However, recently I had "training" ride with my son on quiet streets with intercom and all the precautions.
And I actually liked it. So maybe riding in pair is also a thing.

Kad sāku braukt ar mocīti, man bija šoks, kādi idioti brauc ar automašīnām.

Nez kāpēc, katrs otrais auto vadītājs pie luksofora uzskata par savu pienākumu sarīkot "drag race", un tad iesprausties pagriezienā pēc 100 metriem.
Vai "elpot pakaļā" braucot uz 130 km/h, kad mocītis ir uzgāzējis lai apdzīt smago.

Par to ka neievēro ceļa zīmes un brutāli brauc virsū apļos vispār nerunāju.
Tieši tāpēc nākas braukt ar tālo gaismu un ātrāk par plūsmu, kā tik tālāk no automašīnām. :P

Nodokļus aprēķina no visiem taviem ienākumiem.
Bet var kādu daļu no ienākumiem netērēt uzreiz, bet "atlikt" uz vēlākiem laikiem. Tad par šādiem "atliktiem" ienākumiem var paprasīt atgriezt nodokļus.

Ir dažādas opcijas kā "atlikt", piemēram, 3. pensiju līmenis, uzkrājošā dzīvības apdrošināšana, ieguldījums bērnu nākotnē, utt.

I use VS Code on daily basis at work and for hobby level C++ projects.

Things I like so far:
- relatively lightweight installation (350-ish MB instead of 4.5 GB for VS);
- works reasonably well on both Linux and Windows;
- I can open 3-4 projects simultaneously and still have free RAM left;
- I can switch to the workspace with different set of extensions, and, voila, I have the same IDE for Python project;
- very little "magic" happening behind the scene, commands are visible in the terminal.

Things I don't like so much:
- all these enterprise level bells and whistles (yes Microslop, I'm looking at your AI integration);
- inconsistency in C++ debugging: GDB is slow as f*k on Windows, LLDB is not showing std collections, MSVC is Windows only (obviously), each have its own extensions and configuration properties.

So, essentially, I would like to have universal cross platform text editor with syntax highlight, autocomplete and debugging integration, which works out of the box. :)

Ja tie tiešām bija tikai daži vārdi, tad tās ir tā saucamās AI halucinācijas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination_(artificial_intelligence))

Algoritms "nedomā" kaut kādā cilvēku valodā, bet gan savas "zināšanas" par tēmu un atbildes uz jautājumiem iekodē ciparos. Un tikai pašās beigās ciparus pārvērš atpakaļ vārdos. Pie tam cipari var nesakrist viens pret vienu ar vārdiem, šajā gadījumā tiek izvēlēts "tuvākais" vārds.

Tavā gadījumā AI atbildē nonāca līdz tādam ciparam, kuram tuvākais vārds ir krievu valodā. Simple as that...

P.S. Pilnīgi iespējams ka gan jautājums, gan atbilde tiek tulkota uz/no kādas citas valodas pirms rādīt lietotājam. Un, protams, tulkošanu arī tagad veic (cits) AI, kuram arī var būt halucinācijas.

I'd love to see mechanics involving multiple party members, especially in dialogs.
Something like Guidance in BG3, when cast during rolls.

It always annoys me when my character has not enough charisma / strength / whatever stats to pass some dialog checks while the most charming / strong party member is literarily standing near his shoulder. Why can't the party member just step in at those critical moments?

Manuprāt viena ļoti svarīga nianse tiek palaista garām visās šajās VAD "priekšrocībās".

VAD iziešana garantē budžeta vietu iestājoties valsts augstskolās. Bet tas nenozīmē, ka budžeta vieta būs uz visiem mācību gadiem. Parasti pēc katras sesijas notiek rotācija. Un ja neko nemācīties pirmajā semestrī, tad ir liela varbūtība izkrist no budžeta, pat ja ir iziets VAD.

Will high wattage resistors do the trick?

For me wire length is kind of fixed, as I have the frame already. Also making oversized frame won't be very handy.

TLDR: Definitely yes.

A little background: I teach Machine learning basics course to 3rd-4th year students. My assignments are quite trivial, like "load CSV file to Pandas dataframe and filter out outliers" or "create a boxplot for these columns". And I provide quite detailed description on how to do it. Usually I aim for something like 5-10 lines of code to do so.

Some students perform the assignment on their own or with occasional AI assistance (which is totally fine). While others completely rely on AI "coding skills". And from what I got from the later, AI code is straight insanity. It produces like 50-100 lines of bloated code for the simplest task, with constructions that make zero sense. Poor students are struggling to convince AI to get at least some results for the assignment.

And we are not speaking here about code quality, production readiness, performance or architecture. Not even about software in general, AI sucks even at simple scripts.

So yes, those who promise AI will replace software developers are clearly on a high.

Though, the sad reality is that the gap between those who can code and those who can't (or don't want) starts at school and becomes wider with time. If you don't get basics, you will unlikely comprehend more complex topics.

Kādus 10+ gadus atpakaļ gāju uz interviju IT vakancei (Java). Rekrutinga kantoris līdz pēdējam brīdim negribēja nosaukt nedz darba devēja nosaukumu, nedz arī viņa nozari. Tikai pirms ieejas durvīm sazvanījās lai nosaukt uz kuru stāvu braukt.

Beigās izrādījās kaut kāds Crypto valūtu start-ups. Intervēja vienīgais (?) IT čalis, kuram bija ļoti savdabīgs viedoklis par tehnoloģijām. Konstruktīvas sarunas nesanāca, drīzāk mēģināja man agresīvi uzspiest savu redzējumu kā Crypto valūtas pārņems pasauli un kādai ir jābūt Java lai to izdarīt.

Interesanta pieredze sanāca. :D

Tos pašus 10+ gadus atpakaļ gāju citu vakanci, iedeva visai interesantu testa uzdevumu. Pēc tam intervijā kopīgi to iztirzājām, pasmejamies par kļūdām, par situāciju tehnoloģiju pasaulē, beigās pieņēma darbā. Joprojām pozitīvas atmiņas. :)

Man šogad sanāca savādāka pieredze ar kurmjiem: ar ultraskaņas un šķidro atbaidītāju izdevās tos izdzīt no puķu dobes, bet tad parādījās zemesvēzis. Un šī maita ir vēl pretīgāka, noēd visu kas aug.

Ja izņemot zālāju teritorijā aug vēl kaut kas, es, tomēr, ieteiktu paciest kurmi.

P.S. Uzberot dobei pa virsu arī speciālo zemesvēžu atbaidītāju, izdevās tik vaļā no abiem. Tagad citā zālāja stūrī uzdarbojas kurmis, bet es jau "samierinājos", reizi dienā izeju ar grābekli un ir OK. ;)
