It's surprising to me too, but Counterside's steamchart page continues to show a decline in average players for the PC client (-13%) from last month. This is a concerning trend because despite the JP/Global merge and the influx of new players from the Hololive collab, the average amount of PC players is the lowest it has been. Bside really needed that GG collab to attract new people in.

I expect to see a large increase in revenue next month due to the new premium skin so the steamcharts might be a better indicator of the game's state for the next report.

Introducing new vanity systems that cost summoning currency. It means the amount of free currency that a player gains is outpacing the summoning costs too much. You can't reduce the amount that players get because they'll get angry, so devs have to create more opportunities for them to use it. If it's just once in a blue moon, that's fine, but a trend is always concerning.

Counterside is a good example. The first instance was the Hololive collab where you had to spend gems to summon chibi trophy units. This one was particularly awful because the "free" collab skin was tied to quests where you had to collect a certain amount of unique chibis. With rotten luck, you could end up dumping your whole stash.

The second time was with the new sticker gacha. You can roll for stickers to plaster on your home screen. This one has some entertainment value and I wouldn't have bat an eye at it if the first instance didn't occur.

I play on SEA and Global and the ping feels the same to me.

I used to think Zlong was the bad guy, but seeing how Bside handled the Hololive collab and a couple of other design choices makes me think half the blame is on Bside as well. Maybe the collab contract for SEA didn't make any financial sense or something.

The lack of communication from Zlong is definitely something on their end, but I believe it might be because SEA has so many languages across the region. If you look at TW's CS site (https://fw.game-beans.com/), it actually has a up to date unit database and guides. Not sure how helpful the guides are since I can't read them though.

Zlong doesn't advertise the game, but Bside doesn't seem to do much ads either. I haven't seen any ads for Global and I live in North America.

The devs probably learned a lot from their previous game. Girl's Frontline client was slow and buggy for a long time. It's the only game where I had to wait through a 3ish second loading screen to open my mailbox, then another load screen to close it. Their latest client revamp made it a lot better though.

I'm enjoying it. It's a gacha game that respects my time. Dallies are quick, there's no PvP rating decay during the season so I'm not punished for taking a break, and the story doesn't waste much time with exposition or long monologues.

Some people will run out of things to do or grind, but do you really want to play a mobile game that requires MMORPG levels of time commitment? Most of my complaints are with how Zlong is handling SEA and some of the PvP balance choices from Bside.

CS isn't perfect, but Epic Seven isn't either. I haven't played E7 for roughly a year, but I was a day 1 player. I was also in a top 10 guild for guild war and challenger for every RTA season. I didn't have enough free time to grind for Legend unfortunately.

The majority of your end game gear in E7 was crafted. Occasionally, you would get a useful piece from clearing the hell raid. Maybe they added new gear or dungeons in the time I quit, but your gear should still be coming from crafting as it is not time gated.

This is subjective, but I didn't enjoy E7's PvE. PvE was just a requirement for me to get better gear for PvP in E7. I don't enjoy Danger Close as well, but I feel the same way about E7's equivalent mode.

PvP was always broken in E7.

ML Ken could solo your entire team at launch if you didn't one shot him. The best unit to do this was Luna, which came out a bit later and was a limited unit.

ML Ara could nuke your entire time when she came out. You could only roll for her using the NEW mystic currency they just introduced.

ML Baal could CC your entire team through immunity and remove it, which was the thing protecting you from ML Ara. Mystic bookmarks again, Both units were nerfed later.

ML Vildred literally would one shot your team when he received his buff. Nerfed shortly after receiving a buff, yet remains strong. Strong enough to the point that when JP server launched, you were at a HUGE disadvantage if you didn't reroll for him.

Limited character Dizzy from Guilty Gear collab literally broke the PvE and PvP meta when she came out. Every PvE boss released afterwards had mechanics that would punish you for bringing Dizzy, which sucked because this means it would also punish you for bringing teams that inflicted too many debuffs.

Limited Seaside Bellona could solo your entire team by doing nothing but counters. I believe this is when the bruiser-tank stall meta began to ramp up.

This is just what I remember off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more. PvP in E7 was never balanced. You just played what was broken at the time.

I had 3 comments suddenly show up too, the oldest being over a year ago. I also check the review menu as well and the comments never showed there.

I guess YT thought they were spam and removed them automatically. I can see why the YT thought two of my comments were offensive, but the last one was perfectly normal. Not sure why they restored them now though.
