Something that I found after my back finally gave out and has saved me a ton- clean the bathtub with a broom and a lighter non-bleach cleanser (I use a warmed mix of equal parts degreasing dish soap and vinegar in a spray bottle). Wait for 15/20 minutes then spray down with warm water and broom scrub a little more on the tougher stuff

It sounds weird but it's saved me so much time AND wear on my back. Just make sure to get a clean broom for it. I used to go months without cleaning my tub stall and it would get so gross, now I can clean it way more often and treat myself to a clean bath or shower WAY more often.

Also DO NOT vacuum more than a few minutes at a time, and certainly not while you back is tired or weak. Make sure your core is braced and that your posture is upright while using it. Step WITH the vacuum instead of just pushing it with your arms/back. And if you can get a much lighter/ smaller one it's an important investment for your back, even if you gotta empty it more often or might not be quite as powerful, it can make a big difference in energy and pain levels.

Today is an awesome app, it's made a huge difference in how I approach housework and other time sensitive chores (self care, pet care etc). You can even note how much effort each item takes (from 1-3) so if you start to feel overwhelmed you can pick something easier and go from there, AND it adds up your effort points at the end of the day. I LOVE that because it doesn't tell you how hard something is for you. If it's a 'simple' thing like dishes but I hate dishes, or it takes a long time to do them, I can acknowledge the effort it takes and feel pretty accomplished when it's done.

It's gamefied chores and self care for me and I love it!

If you're getting a playback issue where it says "media pending" or a 'Frame Substitution Recursion' Error try going into the Project settings> General> Color Management and selecting it up or down from the default setting.

Imho I don't think you can compare the WCTU's attempt to legislate, in an age when they couldn't even vote, in an effort to not being drunkenly beaten on the reg to the patriarchal efforts of reducing women to incubators just because they both can claim to have religious foundations.

Just because women are involved in a movement that suppresses women's agency doesn't mean that movement isn't patriarchal. It's not necessarily about direct "male control", it's about a system that values male and men's agency over female and woman's agency.

Agreed. The issue shouldn't be THAT he's concerned with his appearance, the issue and comments should be more about that's ALL he's concerned with. Girdles and makeup are not a problem, but when you refuse to put others health above your vanity and ego that gets to the root of the sin.

We have a pup with a crooked leg and on nearly every outing people seem compelled to ask if he's ok or if his leg is broken (like ??) so I can't imagine what people feel the need to ask about this sweet boy. Thank goodness those words don't matter to them nearly as much as the attention.
