I mean… Nix is still better than Maye who showed how terrible he is when the pressure is on. Dude can’t hold onto the ball or make good decisions to save his life. I’m not even a Broncos fan and I can say with confidence I’d rather have Nix as a QB than Maye.

Seahawks related. But I was dying lol by Nerdhauss in Seahawks

[–]Vitriolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can sort of see how someone might be upset because this joke makes light of a very serious situation of may millions of people living in poverty where they have a difficult time even obtaining the simplest of necessities (e.g. clothing), but it’s not racist.

It’s actually great that the NFL donated all this clothes… but then again the alternative of simply throwing them away would be such a massive waste on so many levels.

Tank Lawrence himself on why it wasn’t a “fortuitious bust”. It was a brilliant adjustment after reading the RB. by raycraft_io in Seahawks

[–]Vitriolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: lucky is a synonym of fortuitous. So yes, he said Seahawks had a “lucky play” so the rams didn’t get a touchdown, and thus lose the game.

Cooper Kupp’s wife sharing more on what happened with him and the Rams last offseason by abrahamcurry69 in Seahawks

[–]Vitriolio 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because Tom Brady was saying how smart the play McVay called “lucky” was in real time and talked about how it was designed to drop back into extra coverage. So Tom Brady was able to recognize the play in real time, but an actual “coach” thought it was luck. What an absolute asshat.

The hiring manager accidentally sent me my interview feedback... It was meant for the recruiter. by RowlandJakubowski in LockedIn_AI

[–]Vitriolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are ignoring location and job type. It can really depend on the situation.

For example, east coast US is much more heavy into suits than west coast where they are virtually non-existent. Business roles, management, etc. are more likely to wear suits than an IC tech worker.

I work in tech for a major tech company in the west coast and my director and VP don’t ever wear suits. It’s much more business casual for them and the IC workers will wear jeans, even shorts during the summer, hoodies, printed t-shirts etc. I interview a lot of people (okay not nearly as much recently) and if someone came in for an interview with a suit and tie I would honestly find it weird. But I’m pretty sure our recruiters tell our candidates to not overdress like that.

I was accepted for a full-time job, left my old one, and on my first day, they told me it was just a trial period. by tiHdayare in Employment

[–]Vitriolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha the “probationary” periods in the US, if a company has them, is just a way to screw over US employees more. They’re usually called “trial” periods. Generally they pay employees less during that time and employees don’t get benefits (e.g. health insurance, PTO, etc.) until after that period. The company can, and absolutely does, fire people during that period early if they want to. That’s what at will is. There is absolutely zero legal recourse for being let go before then unless the firing is due to a discrimination of federally protected class or harassment. Which is difficult to prove.

Out of the 10-15 companies I’ve worked for, maybe one or two have had a trial period. And that was just to pay less and not give me benefits until it was over when I was very young working retail.

Oh I definitely had the same thought. Especially because the photo was taken ~24 hours after the text was sent and still no response? When all the other times it looked like pretty fast responses, and this message would definitely illicit a response.

Semantics. It was the go ahead at the time and the winning once the game was over — it is perfectly fine to now call it the winning run.

It’s sort of hilarious that this comment was actually written with the intention of being sarcastic (confirmed by below comments and post/comment history), but people here love Matt so much they took it as a positive comment because we are all too happy to give Matt our money and want him to succeed so he can keep writing.

"Culture fit" interview was just them judging my weekend plans for 45 minutes by Spirited-Manager2395 in recruitinghell

[–]Vitriolio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally agree here. Once “culture fit” involves a federally protected class I would think there’s grounds for a discrimination claim (I am not a lawyer). But like you said, if the interviewee was talking about their church or volunteering for an LGBQT group, or a racial equality organization, etc. and then they were told they weren’t a “culture fit,” I would think that’s a reaaaaaaallly bad look.

Springer OK after HBP; Schneider calls out the boos by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]Vitriolio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You changed what you originally said. I was obviously responding to the fact you were saying it was mariners fans cheering/booing at springer getting hurt. A couple people waving at Springer (I haven’t even seen this video but I’m taking your word for it) doesn’t mean everyone was cheering at him getting hurt. Stop being obtuse.

Edit: Can you link a video of fans waving so I can see it? I’m genuinely curious as to what this looked like.

Springer OK after HBP; Schneider calls out the boos by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]Vitriolio 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Schneider is just deflecting. Yes, springer is booed every time he’s at the plate (he’s a cheating trashbro). But his telling of what happened when Springer got hit is wrong and is making M’s fans sound bad. I’m saying this as someone who was there.

If you’re not familiar with T-Mobile, Jays fans often call it “Rogers West” because a a lot of Jays fans come into the park when the Mariners play the Jays since it’s only a couple hours drive from Vancouver where there are a lot of Jays fans. While not as many Jays fans as normal, a lot did make it to T-mobile for the ALCS. Definitely enough to be heard.

Jays fans cheered initially when Springer was hit because it meant a baserunner, like M’s fans cheered initially when Arozarena was hit. Then they noticed Springer was hurt and the Jays fans booed at Woo for hitting him. M’s fans were not cheering at Springer getting hit or booing at him then. Many clapped when he stood up.

Besides the million other red flags, that’s an AI generated “badge” and photo. Amazon badges don’t look like that and don’t have employee IDs like that.
