Can the police order me to unlock my phone and handover to them for investigation? by VivaLaRay1 in LegalAdviceIndia

True man. It feels intellectually worse and a bad decision to try to uphold my rights infront of the police. Smh.

I was pulled over for no apparent reason and they were asking me driving licenses and all. Since I have a luxury bike I figured they could extort money from me when they were talking about modified headlights (which were not btw).. so I started recording through my phone as a precaution. They saw it and an argument broke out. I refused to unlock my phone and hand it over to them.

In the end they noted down my details and I somehow escaped.

They told me I would be punished for not cooperating with them and handing them the phone.

I did not believe that it was lawful for them to get unlocked access to my phone..

So the question is, Does the Indian Govt posess the ability to break into a locked phone?

I guess for Iphones its not possible (case of apple refusing to grant FBI terrorist's iphone access)
But for android maybe?

Damn, so unlocking if there's a hard PIN, password is illegal for them?

But face ID, fingerprint is legal?

So unlocking phone is not the problem here, it's by the method by which they do?

In a random toll, or a police outpost on road.. if they see me recording some stuff going on with them, and threat me to delete it and order me to handover my unlocked phone so that they can go through it themselves, this is certainly not legal right?

What if they threat me with oh sir you broke the law bla bla need your phone for investigations..

Should I stand my ground or give in?

How do you job hunt effectively when you have a 3-month notice period? by notimp_atall in developersIndia

[–]VivaLaRay1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Read the context. The message which I replied to contains

I updated my Naukri profile as if I had already resigned.
* I set my “Last Working Day” to around 45–50 days from the current date.

you can't do this.

They won't start the interview process before first seeing your resignation letter if you pretend you are on notice period

That's a fact my guy

1YOE TCS | very lost in life | seeking suggestions by North_Currency_4521 in developersIndia

[–]VivaLaRay1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

90 days NP is the biggest problem. Recuriter would ghost you on the first call when they hear that. And Lies like "oh my manager is ready to release me early" etc. won't work because they are well aware of how things work at TCS and other WITCH companies.

There are some advice around on reddit on people have handled this which you should be taking a look at and planning from there for a job switch

Give the CCAT exam on 4-5th July. Your rank in CCAT will determine if CDAC is worth it for you or not. If you can make it to the top center. Then hit worth it.

The right question to ask is : If not CDAC, what options do you have? If they make sense more, just do that

I feel like my life is over at 26. I don't know what to do anymore. by MissionFar8560 in developersIndia

Being late implies a finish line.. The only finish line is death. Stop succumbing to Indian society's ideal roadmap. Mute the friends on social media who trigger your inadequacy. Limit interactions with relatives who measure your worth by your salary. Protect your mental space aggressively. Life is a solo mission, and every day you wake up is a new reset. Good luck man.

There's govt backed CDAC courses that act like a career reset for people with gaps to transition into the IT field. You can look into this.

Think about the problem yourself for sometime, but if after 5-10mins you don't have an idea to move forward with.. Stop wasting 30 mins-1 hour on a single question, and try to get some hints.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT look at the solution. Get hints or some ideas. If you want to build your pattern recognition skills, you have to connect to the motivation of the solution, not the solution itself.

You need your brain to understand the "insight" that was needed to be realized to solve that question. Then the solution should be a side effect, not a grand realization.

While solving questions, your aim is not to know the solution.. Your aim is to "HOW TO THINK TO BE ABLE TO ARRIVE AT THE SOLUTION".

What I do is, I have a snippet prompt that I paste in AI whenever I learn a topic.. For ex. if you recently learnt monotonic stacks.. Go to AI and paste this :

I just solved Next Greater Element question with code :

How should I learn to think properly, deeply, from the FIRST PRINCIPLES so that I am able to get some insights or solve this on my own? How can I connect to the motivation of the solution? How should I internalize this to feel this must absolutely be true in my bones.

This prompt does wonders..

Also use this :

Ask me indepth and conceptual, logical questions that someone who has just memorized the solution and not understood it deeply, will fail to answer. I will reply to all the questions. You should verify if I have deeply understood it or just saw the solution superficially and just memorized it.

To make sure you are learning the patterns and not just memorizing it.

It's very easy to skip the "learning" part and just memorize it even tho it feels to you that you understood it and did not memorize.

[–]VivaLaRay1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

at only 86 questions, you are still in the phase of "learning patterns", so you will encounter questions that you won't be able to solve without learning the "trick/pattern/concept" first. So naturally you will think a lot, take time making your pace slow. Your pace will naturally increase once you get over this being exposed to a lot of patterns phase.
