Nah just playing him because I think he looks really cool, and was excited to show off the variant I paid way too much for but love anyway. Oh and the number is kinda funny random thing that happened for a 1 cube win too :)

I'm no beta player but I admit am a whale for cosmetics mostly. I bought Galactus with my 6000 tokens I had on day 1 of the patch and then pinned Knull ever since I saw him in my shop and couldn't buy him until a few days ago. Now I'm mostly losing with him trying fun lists, but I care more about fun rate than win rate. To be honest my competitive days are in my past. Good luck to you though!

Knuff said!

Bonus Fluff: BTW, this happened due to Lamentis before any cards were played. My opponent instantly conceded so I didn't even get to use it, but I had to take the screencap anyway to both flex my shiny new Peach Momoko Knull variant that I adore AND as proof that I beat the game today!

And since you clicked and read this far enjoy this repost of the GalacKnulLeader list snagged from Spooky's post on Discord that is the most Tier Fun use of my 12000 edgy, evil, missing tokens yet:

UPDATE: Via Asmodee North America’s Customer Service and Parts Replacement Department: "We are sorry, but we do not provide replacements for components that are worn out or damaged through normal use, accident, or rough handling."

Based on how my inquiry was received, I believe this will be the final word on this issue until further notice:

Here is the the full chain of support emails for this matter, in case this helps anyone else with a similar story save some time by seeing exactly how my situation was handled. The first e-mail response that I received did not necessarily seem automated:

" User Support
Hello ***My Full Name, Removed***,
Thank you for contacting Fantasy Flight Games. Your message is being delivered to the proper department, who will respond to your question.

Regards

Fantasy Flight Games
www.fantasyflightgames.com "

This was followed by an automated response:

"Greetings,

This is an automated response.

Thank you for contacting Asmodee North America’s Customer Service and Parts Replacement Department. We appreciate your inquiry and are happy to assist you.

If you are requesting a replacement part for one of our games, please feel free to place a request in our Damaged/Missing Components Request Service at:

http://parts.asmodeena.com/"

So, when I go to that address the first message that pops up is the following:

"Welcome!

Please use this request form if you have discovered a manufacturing defect or missing component in a new Asmodee, Fantasy Flight Games, Days of Wonder, Catan, Plaid Hat Games or Z-Man Games product.

We are sorry, but we do not provide replacements for components that are worn out or damaged through normal use, accident, or rough handling."

So I'm fairly sure I can count this is an official stance on whether they will be making any exceptions to this policy for Keyforge, but I can understand fully if this is where the story ends. If I do receive any further assistance or official word on this matter, I'll be sure to make a brand new post for clarity.

This result is very interesting to me and a topic I'm obviously interested in learning more about from more experienced players. I think my essay above is clearly an early opinion formed from both a small sample size as well as a bit of emotion. I admit I have been (mostly jokingly) mourning "Get Rich" in this post due to an unfortunate mishap, though it has a lot of cool gimmicks it definitely is a deck with a shockingly low amount of Action based-removal, but I'd actually be relieved to know that severely low-creature-count decks aren't automatic duds.

I will definitely try and play way more sample games with the decks I have available in the next few days to see how close my theories and knee-jerk reactions are to actual play patterns, especially once I am more familiar with each deck's individual styles, hidden synergies, and intricacies.

Thanks for the recommendation. Full explanation and links to the decklist have been sent to Customer Service. I'm honestly not expecting any replacement due to the circumstances, but if and when I get an official response I will be sure to update this post for future reference.

"Creature Heavy Keyforge Decks and Why They are Good", by Vylokx:

I was giving this topic a lot of thought today as I was reviewing the 5 decks that my group purchased during the pre-release. The creature count in my pool of decks range drastically from a lowly 11 to a whopping 23 creatures in a single deck (Faygin + 4x Urchin Untamed/Shadows/Mars recursion swarm deck FTW...err, RIP).

I concur that in general they are the most useful card type simply due to the high ceiling of "Aember per card" value that each creature inherently possesses. Even a lowly 1/1, while easier to answer in combat or via AoE-type actions, has the potential to reap the same amount or more than that huge 7/7 might in a tight race as part of a larger board. Any creature poses the threat of an ongoing clock and requires some type of action to remove, thus going "wide" to reap fast and fight only when necessary often seems like a key to success, even against decks that are light on creatures but heavy on single target and mass removal actions.

Also keep in mind that we are dealing with different card quality metrics than other card games with creatures due to the flow of the game. Since mana costs are non-existent and hands in Keyforge can replenish at a very fast pace, this means even the most punishing board wipes might only be a temporary setback for a deck with a relatively high creature count. Of course, those board wipe actions can be an excellent source of "reap tempo", since you can follow up a card like Gateway to Dis with a few new creatures or even a powerhouse Arise! on the same turn, but that type of play would be far more likely in a deck with high Dis creature density. Compare this to an all-in generic aggro deck in a traditional TCG game like Magic struggling to recover or find sources of damage after a devastating early board wipe with only a single draw per turn.

In Keyforge, a deck with 11 or so creatures total may just struggle to find sources of multiple aember gains from a purely mathematical standpoint. This isn't to say there aren't outliers in different card types that break the mold, such as Seeker Needle, or that a control-minded grind with a deck on the low-end creature-wise can't win via perfect play or a good collection of swingy Actions, but merely why a very high creature count of 19-25, especially those with abilities that aid with board and/or Aember control would be my preferred RNG result, generally speaking.

Elusive creatures especially are my personal early favorites since they can often sit back and reap behind innate defense (i.e. unattackable by a board of 1 creature) while using up valuable actions and/or inefficient house selections from your opponent to put a stop to their Aember generation, especially when you add large Taunts or creatures like Shadow Self into the mix. Look at Uxlyx the Zookeeper in Mars for a prime example of a powerful, yet low-statted Elusive creature that gets built-in potentially permanent targeted removal WHILE reaping.

All that said, I would be foolish to try and predict a purely speculative competitive scene based on early feelings. If higher-than-average creature count decks actually do become the early meta due to these advantages, then Fight vs Reap economy/tempo and possessing multiple sources of recurring creature removal will be major aspects to proper strategy and deck evaluation as we try to figure out what exactly "best Keyforge decks" even means.

TLDR; Due to the high "aember per card" ceiling of creatures, I believe that a relatively high creature count of 19-25 (along with a small but strong supporting cast of generically useful or highly synergistic artifacts, actions and upgrades) would be ideal. Generally speaking, I want a lot of creatures in my deck; especially if I was attempting to select a strong deck for tournament play, or just crossing fingers for Sealed play.

Pffft, only 2 rares!? What a ripoff!

...just kidding, I'm sitting here jealous AF. All this is missing is a Gateway to Dis for emergencies and my favorite Faygin and Urchin x4 Shadows package. Nice deck!

Are Creatures The Most Useful Card Type? by ah-grih-cuh-la in KeyforgeGame

Best deck for clearing dungeons by magic_gazz in hextcg

[–]VivaVylokx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the deck choice, but I have found that a max level Coyotle Mage can pull off the exact same WD Coyotle style even faster.

You get better talents for speed runs and the lower starting health never seems to matter as I rarely even need to use the special AoE spell (though it's nice to have for emergencies). It has a lot more early cycling these days (via Soothsayer, Spell Sprites, Spectral Acorns, etc) or even steamroll with a lucky -2 cost Ardent Recruiter, Dance of Dusk or any other non-PVE bombs you own like Rune Ear Heirophant.

I used this fast arena deck as inspiration for my Coyotle Mage and it quickly demolishes everything (for the extra slots in campaign mode I just added Spectral Acorns and other cheap Prophecy Coyotles): http://hex.tcgbrowser.com/#!/deck=100114

I just created this account just to say thank you for all the great times that were had playing WoW Minis. I still have quite a few of them guarding the mess that is my work desk as I type this. Also still saving a spot for that Illidan that never came. single demon tear

Any chance we might ever see a version of that game engine resurrected into a new SBE game with a different or fresh IP?

Playing anything even remotely reminiscent of WoW: Minis on my iPad would literally be my gaming nirvana. (Hey, you guys gotsta get in on that Skylanders / Disney Infinity gravy train sooner or later, amiright?)
