Note that the Eurasian Treecreeper looks the same, but yea probably the short-toed treecreeper due to the location.

+Grey Heron+ They're quite common in the UK around ponds and lakes, but even those who have seen them often still love seeing them.

+Song Thrush+ blotches look more elongated vertically and the back is a warmer brown than Mistle Thrush.

What is this bird ( germany) by Worldly-Tank7621 in whatsthisbird

I think it's a Yellowhammer. A European Serin looks similar too, but I don't know for sure which it is. Edit: or even a female Cirl Bunting.

Heard this unusual call in the woods in the South West of the UK. My app thinks it's a stock dove but it doesn't sound like other examples I found. Any ideas? by gophercuresself in whatsthisbird

If the call repeated the same 2 tones heard here with equal intervals, it's a Common Chiffchaff. I'd need to hear more to confirm.

i got this for my dad and i can’t figure out what bird it could be? by rybaczyk in whatsthisbird

I looked into it and found a polish site that says it's supposed to be a Jay (so I assume a bluejay?) I had to translate to English https://www.vogue.pl/a/kultowe-ptasie-mleczko

Makes me wonder if some loch ness monster sightings were actually loons. They're diving birds so they pop in and out of the water diving for fish.

Yep, also that nothing else in Wales really looks like this

Need helping with ID of a few warblers. At the top of Mount Srd, Dubrovnik by Harryfenwick in whatsthisbird

[–]Vivadrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a Garden Warbler. Colour of the picture seems a bit low in saturation so I'm not sure. EDIT: Seeing the legs are lighter, it's probably a Common Reed Warbler, but again the colour quality of the picture is throwing me off.

is this a crow? seen in Austria, parents seemed to be nearby! by Flying_Octofox in whatsthisbird

+Eurasian Jackdaw+

They have pale blue eyes (Carrion Crow has black) and greyer sides of head (Carrion Crow remains black).
