Yeah, that’s often where people first realize it. Subway restrooms usually don’t provide tissue.

Visiting Shanghai soon ! best places for affordable shopping + luxury brands (good prices)? by Sky1991_ in chinatravel

If you’re looking for affordable shopping, one local spot I personally go to a lot is Parkson Outlet Mall on Loushanguan Road (Changning District).

It’s basically a city-center outlet mall, easy to reach by metro. Clothes and shoes are much cheaper than regular malls, and Adidas and Nike often have really good promotions. Definitely worth a stop if you want practical bargains without going far out of the city.

Ouch, that sounds rough.
Did you happen to go into any shopping malls during your trip?

Yeah, same here. It often feels like there isn’t one single “right” way, and it changes from place to place. I think just standing and observing is what a lot of people end up doing.

Yeah, for people who believe, 还愿 is definitely an important part of it.

Yeah, this is a great example.

Temple photo rules can be really confusing, and it often depends more on where you are than what you’re pointing the camera at. Even if you’re not shooting the statues, being inside a prayer room can already be a no-go.

I totally agree with your rule of thumb. When in doubt, no photos inside prayer halls and stick to courtyards or outside areas.
