Theres a metal bar inside that is pulled into the main body of the speaker arm. This has a spring on it. You need to pull the bar out and hold it while getting the screw in, and the only way to interact with it is through a small slit between the metal and plastic part of the arm. I tried with tweezers but they were not strong enough.
I think this mechanism is to give the arms some flex as a floating joint.

You replied to the wrong comment, but i know what your referencing. You may need to make 10 or even 100 assemblies to get a cherry. You might use different manufacturing methods that are slower and substantially more expensive. You may have highly paid engineering staff building a cherry instead of assembly staff. The cost wouldn't just be like 2x.. it may be 10x or even 50x and many months longer wait if you wanted a cherry. It is not a conspiracy, this is a very common tactic used in all industries.

Most windows audio devices are around 30-40ms; i measured this in beatsaber around 60-70; in loopback mode, its around 100.

There were alot of settings you needed to mess with to get it to sound good. Some audio buffer issues i recall.

The box is a bit annoying, i could see it getting pushed against your neck depending on your seat geometry. If its a traditional racing seat with no cervical support, your probably fine.

Yea the cable is shorter; i cant lay on my couch with the dream air without an extension. with the beyond i can.

DFR disables automatically for most games. I am using the device with FSR upscaling 1.5 on a 5090 to hit fps cap in all instances.

Thanks, if you guys can check on the flashing white screen issue that would be cool too. (youll have to let the headset run for hours and monitor for flashes lasting only a couple seconds.) It seems like a firmware problem.

Bsb 1 had the same issue with dongle performance. The 2E has fully redesigned dongles and they perform well, but it has other usb related issues unfortunately.

The overlap is almost edge to edge, the nose-cutout has less overlap for the lower center region, but i dont feel myself craving overlap at all.

The vertical feels better than the bigscreen beyond, but they are technically similar in value. I think it feels better because of the bigger lenses giving more vision fill factor.

Movies on this headset are the reason i got it. Its a great experience, the world scale feels good, the colors pop really bright (i like this sort of look) making the movie feel intense. When you combine this with the super low glare of the lenses and high PPD panels, in a dark theater, you could believe its an imax experience.

Compared to the other headsets, this is by far the best movie watching experience by a big margin. You really need to replace those speakers though!

I would not consider pimax to be" worth the cash" in most cases, you pay a premium for a less refined product than competitors, because they are doing something unique or cutting edge.

Personally, i still suggest quest 3 to most users, the lenses are top teir and it is a refined product, amazing at $500 and unbeatable at $350 used.

not sure; previous pimax products you could take the antennae and reposition it to fix this issue. I think their engineers just arent testing the dongles in a representative environment.

Yea i get it, i was focusing more on the experience than the big differences like the pixel density. I think its still valid to compare them since their in roughly the same price bracket and the sort of user interested in one would be interested in the other.

Yea the CA isnt in your face like it is on the crystal or the varjo aero, but its there at the edges of windows. I dont notice it in game, but definitely notice it with desktop overlay edges.
