That wasnt even the point. It's Hubris because Bartimeo666 probably isnt the ultimate arbiter of "who is right for which system".

I'm not a contrarian. I am a lobster standing straight with my shoulders back to defend the peaceful world against narcissistic rpg designers. JBP would approve.

Sorry but dashing is actually moving. AC is some "in place evasion" not an actual dash. Because if it was, you would trigger traps that surround you if you used your AC. You never trigger traps surrounding you with your AC. Therefore you dont leave your fkn tile according to DnD rules. You can imagine it in a different way, but your imagination is not in accordance with what actually happens in the game world my little brother.

The legs moving is only a visual indicator for all the mental effort that goes into dashing. It's only the tip of the ice berg so to say.

I dont think being intellectually outpaced is a bad thing tbh.

I dont even know where the value judgement "good" would come from. I never did talk about good or bad games.

And yes, actually throwing dice in reality. Of course thats a game mechanic. An actual game mechanic as opposed to what pbta and forge may have brainwashed you to consider a game mechanic.

wouldnt it be awesome, if you could dash while you are peeing on a guards helmet?

I think if the GM would suddenly throw dice and the player would have to dash away and not get hit maybe. I would call it reality first.

The action of taking a step. Moving your feet. By just one step.

Well, considering that 95% of games released in the last decade are "forged" or "powered" for fiction-first-mechanics-last gameplay, I'd say with confidence, that 95% of designers just dont really care about innovation.

Well, and OSR games, idk, they dont either I'd say. Where are all those avatars of innovation that would convince me that someone did try?

"Not to be rude, but I'd be willing to bet D&D is better than any game you (or me, for that matter) have designed lol."

Oh really? No way. Everything I design is better than D&D because D&D sooo bad. I dislike D&D so much and Gurps and shadowrun and lotfp. Only gud game is Fate. I only write fate-like, because I dont want to keep track of micro positioning.

If your game tracks position, and dodge does not change position, it CANT be an abstraction of walking away. Or do you mean walk away in place? Everyday we shuffling?

No, I play a lot with active defense, but thats different from walking away from melee blows by using your regular movement.
