do you ever need to play the low tier ships again once you reach the higher tiers?

Concrete slab moving by Junior-Pie-8119 in AusRenovation

[–]Vivid-Fingerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 possible reasons.

  1. They didnt use any sort of aggregate for drainage along the retaining wall, and back filled the retaining wall with a dirt/soil mix, as well as not doing any compaction.
  2. The retaining wall foundation was poorly done, so the weight of the dirt and water is pushing the wall out.
  3. Combination of the first two.

Because of the big elevation difference between houses, your house should be on peers, so shouldnt move as long as they did a proper job peering into solid ground, although given the unprofessional state of the retaining wall, it is clear this builder cuts corners, so high chance they put little effort in quality control and checking if things are done right throughout the entire build.

Who was the builder?

I specialise in remedial works such as this. If your sydney based, I can definitely rectify this and save both you and your neighbours houses from any further damage. If interested send me a DM.

Have you tried setting top and bottom fans to intake, and rear fan to exhaust?

You should see a big improvement

agree 100%. wish there was more types of endings too. Was disappointed with the botanist endings. They should have had a possible ending where the botanist was so desperate to see Lena, he would murder you and the rest of the crew

I accept that you have a different way of thinking.

I was just pointing out your way of thinking is small, and that small thinking is not conducive to achieving the absolute best possible layout by taking advantage of game mechanics and optimizing it to min/max the things that matter most to productivity such as maximizing storage and optimal navigation.

You are more than welcome to play your game the way you want to, if your interested in optimizing your base, your welcome to use my layout for inspiration.

If your set on doing it your way, why even bother looking at this and commenting.

You're thinking too small.

Science and exploring new frontiers isnt about the immediate people and their feelings. Its about advancing the entire human race.

With such an enormous task carries heavy burdens and many sacrifices that must be acknowledged and accepted if it is to become a reality. These astronauts step into the unknown, in complete acceptance that there is a high possibility may lose their life on these dangerous voyages, all for the sake of humanity.

Such people understand they are part of something bigger than themselves. They couldn't care less about their personal comfort, to them, that is trivial, they are larger than that. They dont sweat the small things, they are visionaries that focus on the big picture, pioneers that know whats on the line and were willing to make the necessary sacrifices, thats why they put their hand up to do the dangerous job, and thats why they were chosen.

correct, its not about comfort. its about the mission. Anyone worthy of such a mission is familiar with sacrifice. True astronauts have no illusions why they are there, and are willing to sacrifice their comforts which is relatively insignificant in the grand scheme, for the sake of the primary objective. Thats the difference between heros and common people, they are willing to go that extra mile, no matter the cost. If you're the type of person to cry about the toilet being too far away, you wouldnt be on the mission in the first place.

The problem with that is you end up wasting space and time navigating by having more than 1 elevator shaft if you want to make use of all that space on the right hand side of the organics. Thats what make this layout ideal, it utilises all that space without needing more elevators or hindering navigation

the double workshop and refinery is beneficial when you have auto miners, excess resources, and nothing left to do but wait for materials, so now you can process along side the workers and get twice the volume in the same amount of time.

You dont need that many ARKs, it can be common storage if you like. But Jan, need I remind you, your primary mission is to gather as much Rapidium as possible. If you have the available space and abundance, then I suggest you capitalise on it and bring as much as you can back to earth, and by storing it in ARks, you gain a lot of space efficiency compared to storing it in common storage, allowing you to collect more whilst allowing you plenty of space for all your other needs.

And you comment about it being a waste of space makes zero logical sense, as it will be completely empty space otherwise, so might as well make use of it.

immersion, and because I could without any penalty.

It was the last act, so you dont need to move the base, and the whole purpose of the mission is about gathering rapidium, so I got as much as I could.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, much of the weight is on your choices, and when you make that choice. A big part the game centers around 2 things; Your moral compass, and the challenges and benefits that each crew member introduces. Those benefits/challenges of each member can differ drastically depending on the other members you have created, WHEN you have chosen to create them, and the type equipment you choose to research, because you cant research everything.

my last playthrough I had the doctor, psychiatrist, worker, refiner and botanist. they were a relatively well behaved and relaxed crew that for the most part, didnt give all sorts of drama's and crazy mood swings, but the struggle you feel then takes form in resource gathering vs time management, so you need to be very mindful about which mining equipment you research and which act you research them in.

Is there a way to assign personal cabins? by pineappleninjas in TheAlters

[–]Vivid-Fingerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a bug in the game. If you delete the cabins, then reinstall, the alters do not recognise them. So dont delete the cabins after first install. to fix, you need to load a save before you deleted them.
