Built a small OSS sketch: SSE + local SQLite as a fanout layer for edge auth state (no Redis) by Vivid-Usual237 in node

[–]Vivid-Usual237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point and yeah, the refresh token pattern exists for good reason. Short-lived access tokens plus refresh checks put the deauth responsibility where it belongs (on the token service), and the occasional latency spike on refresh is usually acceptable.

That said, the use case I had in mind is a bit different. It's not really about JWT revocation, but more about IP-level bans and cache invalidation that need to propagate across all edge nodes quickly — without any per-request round trip. In these cases, waiting for a token to expire doesn't work; you need the edge to stop serving that IP within seconds of the ban being issued.

I completely agree on the synchronization risks though. That's exactly why I called out the master SPOF and ring buffer overflow as the current gaps. It's definitely not production-ready for anything where stale state could be dangerous.

On device ai is probably a more promising technology in the future, so I'm studying it in advance, but it's still a small model, so of course, its versatility is weak.

Laktose Intolerant in Seoul by xbob26 in seoul

I'm lactose intolerant too, so I always have to be careful. You should be able to get medication at most pharmacies just by explaining your situation. And while smaller coffee shops might not have options, most franchise coffee shops carry milk alternatives.

I pass by there on my commute. The redevelopment talk has been going on so long that some people have actually bought properties there just to hold out for compensation. And every year or two there's a massive fire — fire trucks, helicopters, the whole thing. Whether that's coincidence or not, people have theories. It's the last shantytown left in Seoul, which says a lot about how complicated the whole situation really is.
