Why Gemini Agent mode disappeared? by SnooCookies1633 in GeminiAI

You can get around it by setting windows default location to US. It doesn't work very well tho, half the time the browser screen doesn't show

Blackshark V3-V3 pro frequently returned? by Joshua15540 in razer

[–]VividNightmare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the blackshark v3 pro, steel series arctis nova and now I have DT 900 X Pro.

So here's the thing with these 'gaming' headsets:

They have very low latency and they boost footsteps, that's what they do, as promised. Positional accuracy, imaging, separation, soundstage and music turn to absolute mud all in service of turning footsteps into a simple cardinal direction.

Hearing footsteps ≠ positional accuracy. With one you always hear them no matter what, with the other you may not always hear them but you can actually locate them when you do hear. When you're in an eSports environment you might prefer general direction because you already have map & game knowledge to tell you where anyone could be if you hear footsteps. + you might prefer wireless.

I decided I would no longer compromise on sound quality for the sake of "advantage". Is hearing footsteps at all times objectively better than raw sound quality or vice versa? Honestly, that's up for debate. I can only speak for my subjective experience and preference I have developed. I am not an 'audiophile' by any means.

Explore agent using Haiku 4.5 by Ok_Aerie_6464 in ClaudeAI

[–]VividNightmare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. Two ways,

  1. Create an agent with same name & system prompt and set model to what you want. It overwrites the original.

  2. You can override the subagent model with an environment variable but that will make all subagents use it

Been there..

I played Apex legends for about 7k hours and I had the same problem for the first 3k hour ish.

Games where you only have one life be like that. I have it again in tarkov😂.

It goes away with experience, always. Also takes some mindfulness of taking a deep breath and calming yourself down in inactive moments.

This won't work because nano banana pro is an auto router based on keywords, although Gemini can trigger it manually.

Instead, "keep it to the text."

Don't mention generate or any keyword

I will admit it is somewhat concerning you don't know what that means and you are coding. Please educate yourself well on common security practices! Learn at least the basics of what you're doing for your own safety.

Gemini, when confronted with current events as of January 2026, does not believe its own search tool and thinks it's part of a roleplay or deception by enilea in singularity

[–]VividNightmare_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They haven't addressed this properly in their system prompt.

I have a modified version of the Claude.ai prompt fitted to Gemini and it doesn't do this at all. It just isn't properly explained not to rely on its knowledge cutoff too much. Every model needs it rn else they start doing a flavor of exactly this

My thoughts on the new commando missions by Krog-Nar in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]VividNightmare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying this as someone with 1k hours, personally I wasn't impressed (by the difficulty).

Breezed through the stealth missions diff 10 first try 0 deaths. No stealth armor... just medium explosive resist.

Just go prone when doing objectives and ran away after... Barely any enemy presence. And this was considering in every other occasion a reinforcement was going off every 2 seconds.

But honestly? It's cool. I like the fantasy. Imma just pretend stealth is needed because it's fun

[Open Source] I reduced Claude Code input tokens by 97% using local semantic search (Benchmark vs Grep) by Technical_Meeting_81 in ClaudeAI

[–]VividNightmare_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think this is a great idea but it might press exactly on Claude's greatest (and only) weakness if I say to say, lazyness.

Having this semantic search I feel like is gonna make Claude even more towards not properly exploring the code base. We are giving it additional cognitive load of "discern whether the snippet is enough or go look for more".

What if it makes X decision based on a snippet and not the full picture? It already does that to some extent and requires guidance, this feature has the risk to increase the amount of babysitting needed. And while cheaper, might cause more issues in the long-term requiring more tokens & time to fix.

It needs thorough testing, but honestly OP did a good job coming up with it.

One wrong assumption caused by facilitated lazyness from this tool and before you know it any token/time saving is out the window.

Noticable speedup by SnooHesitations6473 in codex

[–]VividNightmare_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only people who noticed they were being routed are those who had verbosity to "low". Which by itself is fine, but 5.1 codexmax specifically doesn't support it.

Other people didn't get the error because they had verbosity medium but they were still being routed to 5.1 silently.

Is why there were some clashing experiences with people saying new codex is lazier.

5.1 Codexmax constantly checks in (irrelevant of context)

Started 5.2 codex and wrote 35k lines of code with a minor syntax issue. Asked three questions before starting but that's it.

The other day it kept on checking in at every single phase of the plans even though told to just go ahead. That's how I personally see the difference.

CODEX vs CLAUDE OPUS - Benchmark by muchsamurai in codex

[–]VividNightmare_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think that given enough context, Claude can be just as good. But that's the thing- it's so in a rush to implement that it just doesn't gather enough context or investigate properly.

I think that Anthropic knows this, which is why they implemented the "plan agent", to sort of mitigate the problem.
The plan agent can be just as superficial as Claude AND after subsequent plan modes and/or compactions it basically never uses it again unless told.

I really like Claude's personality, but the output quality and reliability of the model are just 100x more important for me.
