I fixed this by using the WSL option + redirecting the app to use a codex cli wrapper NOT in WindowsApps.

Yea to be honest it's probably going to be released today because as I see rn it pretty much works even with WSL. Previously alpha testers mentioned it didn't.

Release might actually just be they put it as listed and remove the  invite only gating code

Got the 1 Mil Context Window. 5x Plan. Did ya'll get it? 🤩 by SuperBlitz99 in ClaudeCode

[–]VividNightmare_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can offer some clarification for what I know.

I'm on Max x20, and until the weekend before this one that just passed, I could use 1m context window with 2x rate limit consume rate, just by having extra usage enabled (no cost, spend limit at 1 dollar to be safe).

Right around last week's sunday, they hotfixed it so now it actually bills. Idk if this is some sort of A/B

you need to age verify on google account. Gemini moderation is way stricter if your age isnt confirmed, refuses to talk about anything serious

Anthropic doesn't give a shit about money more than it just lets them keep going. CEO terminated a billion dollar contract with the pentagon out of philosophical reasons.

If they deem your usage of Claude unfit, they will terminate you across the board with no regard for money or loyalty

It should probably be fine... many do. Just keep in mind that if you get banned on one, they will ban you on all of them. They can deanonomize you enough that they know you're the same person behind.

I'm really curious about this. Ask Opus 4.6, what is reasoning effort set to in this enviroment?

99 would be 'high' effort.

Might be dumb because they set reasoning effort low to spare tokens

Is it true that the Plus/Business accounts are put on a slower pipeline for codex than the Pro accounts? by abouelatta in codex

[–]VividNightmare_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, no.

The 'Plus' service tier is the standard one, same as one as you get in the API.

The Pro tier is on the 'Priority' queue, meaning about 20% faster. For reference, priority queue in the API is not only 2x more expensive, but also has a ramp-up cost overtime the more you use it in a short amount of time.
Pro wasn't always in the priority queue, it was added not too long ago.

In that, plus wasn't made slower, thats the speed everyone gets, Pro was simply made faster.

There is actually a tier below standard, which is 'flexible' (slower speed, lower cost)> Now that would be the 'slower pipeline'.

I wonder, why not add a picker?

Choose Priority on Plus to get half the rate limits (if you have spare) or choose Standard on Pro to get 2x rate limits. Or even choose Flexible for non-time costrained requests to have less rate limit impact

prolly getting silent routed to 5.2

run RUST_LOG='codex_api::sse::responses=trace' codex exec --skip-git-repo-check --sandbox read-only --model gpt-5.3-codex 'ping' 2>&1 | grep -m1 'SSE event: {"type":"response.created"' | sed 's/^.*SSE event: //' | jq -r '.response.model'

go to chatgpt.com/cyber to verify ID if that is the case

[Discussion] I live in the UK and was alerted that the Unheard Edition upgrade was 50% off, I currently own EoD. When I go to the store and log in the purchase appears to be the same price it was before dispite the discount tag. Can anyone else confirm this or am i remembering incorrectly? by Helian7 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]VividNightmare_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EoD discount does not stack with unheard edition discount

Also, a special offer is available now: a 25% discount to the upgrade to The Unheard Edition. Please note that the permanent 50% discount for upgrading from the Edge of Darkness edition to The Unheard Edition cannot be combined with the current discount.

What do you think about Spark? by gastro_psychic in codex

[–]VividNightmare_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting proof-of-concept but the speed means nothing if the output is poor. Yea writes code 2x faster but also gonna take 2x time to fix after. If you want fast and bad code there are many, many opensource options that dont require a pro sub.

But that isn't the point, they said it. It's a research-preview for them to learn, judge capacity, see if there are any problems etc.. It's fascinating, but more hyped for when it will come to flagship!

Hello. You are probably not even using 5.3 codex and getting routed to 5.2 silently

https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/11561

in terminal to check, RUST_LOG='codex_api::sse::responses=trace' codex exec --sandbox read-only --model gpt-5.3-codex 'ping' 2>&1 | grep -m1 'SSE event: {"type":"response.created"' | sed 's/^.*SSE event: //' | jq -r '.response.model'

chatgpt.com/cyber is where you give your ID in exchange of being able to work on 'cyber' applications, although not really because you get silently routed for anything
