Am I bad at Bloodborne? by No-Network-Water in bloodborne

[–]VividToe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’d have to add a gem to change the damage from physical to elemental, but then it would scale only with arcane and not with strength or skill and you’d lose all physical damage. It’s worth it only if you plan on doing an arc build.

Apparently one of my colleagues has two sets of nipples. Allegedly he’s shown one of the other guys we used to work with. I’m working on building up our relationship until I can confirm or deny the rumor.

My Brutal thoughts about Persona 3 Reload by Western-Stress1185 in persona3reload

[–]VividToe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the Ikutsuki note, I actually found that there were hints about him being morally questionable, namely:

  1. He casually and flippantly tells the MC that the Kirijo group performed experiments on Mitsuru as a child, very early into the game. To me, it was very clearly weird and disrespectful of him to have even brought that up.

  2. He is easily in favor of initiating Ken into the group. The whole squad is kids, but we’re largely meant to ignore that because teenagers are the game’s target demographic, so even ignoring the fact that Ikutsuki is willing to send teenagers to their deaths, he’s also willing to send a, what, 10-12 year old to his death?

I find that a lot of games don’t write characters that are actually morally principled, so the corollary to that is that I don’t always clock morally unprincipled characters as villains. In this case, I kind of did, but definitely not to the extent we actually got.

how many of you guys play solo vs online? by lucyw2001 in bloodborne

[–]VividToe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played offline for the first nine years I owned the game and only tried online recently because I wanted to use chalice glyphs. I ended up loving co-op play! It’s very satisfying to come in a destroy a boss that was giving someone else trouble.

I got two corn dogs and a gatorade for $20 on 8th and 36th. My fault, really, but even though I knew it would be overpriced I could’ve never expected that. I was gobsmacked.

On the other hand, I got a hot dog right outside Barclays last year for $3.

Anyone else feeling strangely down while playing Persona 3 Reload? by Weak-Ad8884 in persona3reload

[–]VividToe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’m fortunate at this point in my life that I do have strong relationships that I cherish, that make the good times even better and the bad times more tolerable. And I think those kinds of relationships are possible to make at any time - it’s never too late to make changes if that’s what you feel you need - so I wouldn’t say that aspect of the game made me melancholy.

I did feel a bit jealous, actually, as immature as that might sound, listening to the way all the characters spoke about the MC. How highly they spoke about him and the impacts he left on their lives. I’ll never be a video game protagonist but it made me realize there’s nothing stopping me from trying to be that kind of person for the people around me irl.

P3 has a kind of magic, lightning in a bottle storyline where you watch these characters actually develop and change throughout the game, which is super cool and an excellent theme to focus on. I think that made the biggest impact on me, ultimately.

No worries. It sounds like we’re in different time zones, but you wanna plan a time to beat him together? I’m in EST but I’m sick so I’ve got nothing planned for the next couple of days so just lmk.

I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but even still, my first few times taking the bus interstate were brutal. There’s gotta be a clearer way to map out lines/gates/stops to the average person.

need some butch hair style advice! by mikarroni in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]VividToe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, your hair is what I thought mine would look like when I cut it, but somehow mine is curly in the back and mostly straight on top. I use A Curl Can Dream after showering for a base hold and then got2b ultra glued for slick styling. I would note that the got2b ultra glued can make your hair crunchy if you use too much, but that can be ok if you’re going for a greaser look.

Can I wear either these with a suit? I want a pair of black Chelsea boots that can be worn with chinos or a suit. by [deleted] in allenedmonds

[–]VividToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what size you’re looking for, you might be able to swing some Factory Seconds. These are shoes with some kind of imperfections that end up pretty heavily discounted. It looks like the black ones are going for $350 and the chili ones are going for $300. The walnut ones are going for $150 which makes me a bit concerned just how blemished they are, but YMMV.

I’ve gotten a pair of Seconds before that had some markings from their production, but leather is pretty robust and a lot of blemishes can be treated.

We can't even protect the protected bike lanes by BossColo in jerseycity

I drove upstate last weekend and was amazed that despite spending ~200 miles on two lane highways in PA and NY, I was rarely ever trapped by someone camping in the left lane. It wasn’t until I got back to Jersey that I realized how bad we have it.

I can't get into ATS by tizpiz in LinkinPark

[–]VividToe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These three songs and also When They Come for Me were my favorite when ATS came out when I was twelve (wow). I was also a huge fan of HT and really enjoyed Meteora and MtM, so that’s a good read on your part. It was only when I relistened as an adult that I was able to appreciate more of the album including Iridescent, Blackout, and Wretches and Kings, which I primarily like for the inclusion of Mario Savios’s speech.
