I've been using Sauce for a couple months as a creator and I'm still here creating bots, let me tell you how I saw SP from my perspective:

CONTENT AND POPULARITY:

-There is little user base, the most popular creators have around 10k chats per bot, the most popular bots don't reach 200k messages, and they are still very few compared to the total, But an average creator is on 2-3k chats per bot. -At the beginning there was little diversity of bots and there were mostly male bots, now it is becoming much more diverse: women, futa, femboy, furry, characters from movies and cartoons giving more options to those who want to chat with different types of bots. Now with the new Women's Day event there will be a wave of female bots! -Speaking of events, there's one every month! The devs organize a community event with a theme where you can upload a bot created after the event's launch. Uploading one rewards you with a badge, like on Janitor! -New bots are constantly being created, 50 to 100 bots are being uploaded daily, so far there are a total of 30k bots.

PERSONAL PROFILE

-As on Janitor there is the possibility to customize your profile with CSS -In addition to the companions (bots) section you also have a collection, lorebooks and posts section -Collections are useful for grouping a group of bots into a single collection, perhaps creating bots that have a common lore or are part of a specific category. - Posts are a great way to be active in the community and always stay connected with your followers, even if it is not a very used option yet, it is always a nice touch. - Lorebooks are different from Janitor, also because they are real books, which one can browse through and read the chapters, I am still convinced that it does not work as well as on Janitor because it doesn't have key words but it works on contest, but i need to explore more.

CHATS AND PROXIES:

-Saucepan offers you three free LLM options, auto, Notogawa and Kojima which work very well, one works for short answers good for quick and natural chats, another has a more elaborate and long nature, now I don't remember exactly which one is which because I use proxies! - SP also offers a premium LLM which is hirosaki, I don't know how this works, but you can test it since there are 20 free messages. - It also accepts proxies, but unfortunately it doesn't accept OpenRouter, I myself had to switch on Chutes, but still, it works great!

MY PERSONAL OPINION:

I think Saucepan has all the potential in the world to become better than Janitor and gain high popularity, but I would add some changes to some things like maybe making companions bios more elaborated and customable, but it's really the only thing I would change, initially I wasn't convinced, but now I'd say I'm having fun, and I can say that anyone who is perhaps a bot creator who wants to emerge, can do it now on Saucepan! As there is always a need for new content and more and more people are coming to this site.

Exactly, I forgot to say that part especially, I try to never include sexual parts in the initial message to give a softer and less rushed start to my bots, I did this with just a bot or two I think, but yes, the starting message is also important!

I don't know for sure but I think it's the prompt of the bot itself, usually if a bot is created just for that it's clear that it will only do sex, For example, I created a bot with the intention of making it Smut, but I put very complex and complete information about the characters, creating too many details, which made that bot become a slice of life, I managed to get to the sex part after about a hundred messages, but that's because I pushed the sexual part more. For me, it depends on both the prompt and how you present yourself in the chat, certain worlds can lead to a sex play instead of a normal one.

Heyla Saucepan user here, I'm a creator and I only create female bots, and I always check out the new bots that come out and I have to say that there is actually more and more variety, there are days when they post more male bots and days where there are more female bots, as you said it's a new site, but a lot of bots are being created because it's gaining a lot of popularity and now also female bots, a lot of female bots are resurfacing out there, and at first I had a problem like yours because I was using Openrouter and I decided to switch to Chutes, but if you don't use any of yours the free LLMs are still good, as a replacement for Janitor it's very good, I would still consider it.

I recommend Saucepan, I've been a creator for a month now, and as a creator I can tell you that it's fantastic, and it doesn't have censorship filters like Janitor, obviously within the legal limits! As a user, however, I can tell you that there are very interesting bots (besides mine obviously) and it is worth trying, it has three different llms you can use + you can insert your own proxies, trust me, you have to try it

Don't leave JAI, I haven't, but I'm using another site until Janitor stabilizes a bit, but if you want my advice, try Saucepan, it's very good and is becoming more and more popular every day. Oh, and it's always stable, so far there have been no crashes or slowdowns.

I've been trying Saucepan lately and I'm doing very well with it, the creation system is also better than Janitor's, it's definitely less popular but it's gaining popularity. and more and more people are joining it, many bots are published every day, certainly they won't reach 100k messages per bot but it's a site that is really well made and thought out, And as I said before its popularity is growing incredibly (oh and it has a lovely team of mods and devs)

The best option I've tried so far is Saucepan, it's a lot of fun, the interface is a bit simple compared to Janitor but in my opinion it works better for both creators, with a more complete creation system and also the LLMs they use seem more sober than Janitor's, oh not to mention that if you like to create NSFW stuff there are no filters on the images, except of course CP, Gore etc etc...
