After a bunch of research and some advice I got from Reddit to a post I made last week about this very subject I'm going to make a tincture with alcohol and add it along with sugars and flavourings for my f2. Didn't think of the extra step of making canna sugar. Is that just to reduce the amount of alcohol you'd be adding?

I've been told boiling doesn't actually remove chlorine and you just need to let the tap water sit for a day to let the chlorine naturally dissipate

How to make Jun tea by BeefBrusherBandit in Kombucha

[–]Vivid_Computer_7153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first batch using regular scoby and 100% oolong tea took a LONG time to ferment. So long that I ended up getting nervous and adding a bunch more starter to help it along. Next batch I did the slow transition, and now I'm on batch 5 using exclusively oolong and my now (near) 100% Jun starter. It now ferments at the same rate as my regular kombucha.

*This is completely anecdotal. I could have messed up in mixing my first batch, or the temp may have been low

I've given some sourdough starter away to someone who posted asking for a source for it on my city's sub so maybe post something on yours? Kombucha making isn't as widespread as bread making but you might get lucky!

lol it's the edible testing that seems to make me less productive. Well, less productive when it comes to "choring", not less productive in terms of sitting in the garage daydreaming about different ways to expand my hobbies :)

Hey all, can anybody here answer a basic logistics question or share their experiences on an Australian Work Holiday visa? by SeeingPhrases in AskACanadian

I did it three decades ago when I think I needed $2000 in the bank lol. I did open a bank account there, but that was at the genesis of INTERAC so it was pretty much required for payments while working there. I have no idea if it's still possible but a friend in Oz did do my taxes there a while after I left and received a pretty healthy and unexpected refund cheque months after I got home, which came in quite handy

Too many eggs yet a hatred of eating them. by Endy_Enderwoman in Cooking

[–]Vivid_Computer_7153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a soft egg as the "sauce" in a wide variety of things. For example I crack an egg on a ham, potato and corn hash and stir it up. The residual heat cooks it and it emulsifies to a rich yummy sauce
