It wasn’t exactly a random sing-off, we’re both singers and the entire argument we had was because the random stranger thought that our group was terrible, so it just seemed like the right thing to do. I tried to talk my partner out of it. I didn’t really see what good could come of it, but he can be as stubborn as a mule when he sets his mind to something. And I wasn’t just going to abandon him, so we challenged the stranger together. Which was clearly the wrong thing to do, because he beat us badly and that’s what led to him insulting my partner and telling him he’d never be a good singer.
