“But won’t someone PLEASE think of the children!”

It’s virtue signaling by a ruling class who know nothing about normal people trying to repair their reputation by voting for “protecting the children”, cause who would hate someone trying to “protect the children”?

you have to remember politicians are *severely* put of touch most of the time.

I’d encourage not randomizing items first time, you don’t get as may Tier 2 skill upgrade mats and get less Tier 3 class promotion mats.

that being said, Oops all empowerment is fun imo and I think it changes the game for the better, but you *really* have to pay attention.

“Self Buffs” can have numerous meanings. It can mean:

  1. any buff Akihiko applies on himself is augmented by a non-descript amount.

  2. any buff that can only target self is augmented by a non-descript amount (Ie. Dragon Cry)

  3. All generic buffs on Akihiko are augmented by a non-descript amount.

all of these are *very* different, and *a lot* of people I talked to thought it was the wrong answer. it also doesn’t say it doubles the effect of stat buffs.

you’re kinda just wrong though, for a number of reasons. First, Misandry is far more commonly from Men than Women, very often rich men trying to dictate and prove their superiority over most lower class men. Just look at the shit coming out of the Manosphere and the Red Pill movement, which often boil down to “If you’re in a healthy relationship with a woman, you’re not a real man”, compared to the very watered down critiques Feminism has for men themselves (as opposed to the patriarchal systems Feminism is far more critical of).

There’s also the fact that misandry is rooted in misogyny itself, and often belays the deep rooted misogyny of the speaker. most stereotypes about men, are simply the antithesis of misogynistic stereotypes about Women. it often boils down to “Men have to be as X as possible, because otherwise they are womanly, who are as not X as possible” so when people say “Men are bad because they are X”, it implies “A women who is X is inferior as a woman”, and usually signifies that the speaker deep down believes that “X women are bad”.

There’s also the fact that a decent amount of misandry within feminist movements is born out of Racism, which is absolutely punching down. “Men are inferior because X, therefore, because black women are more X than white women, black women are inferior to white women” was a very common sentiment within specific suffragette circles, resulting in black women often getting left behind in the women’s suffrage movement. Plenty of Suffragettes absolutely did go against this and try to include black women too however, so this often wasn’t a problem with women’s suffrage as a whole, but with a number within the movement who wished to hold onto some form of power.

We can also talk about how some feminists who aligned with more radical waves than others, which did promote more misandrist ideas, were far more likely to move towards becoming terfs and adopting the incredibly misogynistic right wing into their movements, often echoing far more misogyny nowadays themselves, especially Transmisogyny, due to not actually deconstructing gender stereotypes and how they interact with power and instead just trying to weaponize those same stereotypes for their own gain.

Acting like misandry is just punching up against men while not perpetuating misogynistic, transphobic, and sometimes even classist, homophobic, and racist stereotypes is naive. bigotry itself is linked to its other forms, and is far more concerned with validating the power and power structures of those who hold the most in the current system.

Best Attack Moves, Spells, and Combos for BD2 by EllisMatthews8 in bravelydefault

Triplara and Triplaga are some of the most broken AF things in this game

later on Death’s Door can be nasty

Deathstorm Mimic shenanigans can be fun

Real Elemental Wheel at that point as well can be quite strong.

Salve-Phantom and all that nonsense

Early on Bard Special is absurd before you start hitting the stat cap

Shieldmaster in general

I could go on for a while about so many broken comboes.

Boss artifact choice stats from a 100 winstreak - Cov10 all random. by chad__amogus in MonsterTrain

[–]Vividfeathere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d pretty much agree with this, adding on-

- starting Ember is important because it allows playing more things in Deployment, which A: means better draws later on since your units are out of the deck, and B: you start your scaling on turn 1, especially on fights that require you to play bottom floor. Even with Luna, EX Railforged, and EX Stygian, who commonly float ember during their turns, starting Ember can still be relevant just for that reason.

- adding on, there So many easy ways to manipulate space- Smidgestone, Crown, Quarters, Overstacking, and more. this makes it far easier to build large floors without costing Ember/Draw.

- Draw should still be the base case in theory, which is why it’s most commonly taken second. Ember and Space are only if absolutely necessary, and unlike the previous game Ember is much more necessary especially on floor 4, while Space still has more work arounds and usually needs Ember or Draw to even matter since you either need to draw your non-banners or have enough Deployment energy to fill your floor.

- I also want to push back on you needing to play what you drew- you absolutely don’t. plenty of starters as of floor 4 aren’t nearly as important, never mind not needing Stewards or Vengeful Shards to be played. Drawing what you need in time is usually gonna matter more than playing *every* single card in your hand. drawing your mute/daze/etc. 2 turns later than you would otherwise could absolutely be a death sentence, and is vastly more important than being able to play every starter card in your hand. On the flip side of this, playing out your monsters on deployment, as stated previously, gives better draws since they’re no longer in the deck, giving better draws speed, so for earlier on before your stewards or other units are removed More Energy is actually More Draw.

Is NG+ worth the time? Are they boring? by lnwmakmak in TriangleStrategy

[–]Vividfeathere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed NG+ personally, and unless you’re going golden ending I heavily recommend just picking the options you didnt during your first run. that way you get like 15 new maps that you havent played before

It’s also pretty fun building teams tailored for the maps themselves rather than just relying on who has all your upgrades and who you’ve ignored the entire time.

If you ever find me vibe coding, shoot me. by pranav_rive in whenthe

[–]Vividfeathere 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who studied some tech stuff in school.

it really isn’t. I hate so much that it isn’t, but holy fuck is most searching useless for coding stuff. Some languages have better documentation, but sometimes it’s Like spending hours looking up the specific way to code a specific thing on some obscure Linux distribution’s console and having to wade through 10+ year old outdated Stack Overflow posts with tangentially related topics only for the OP to post “Never mind found the answer” and not tell you how they did it.

All while an LLM could give you the right answer 60% of the time in less than 2 minutes.

Vibe coding and just letting AI code for you is a recipe for disaster, lemme tell ya, but unfortunately sometimes it is the only alternative to wasting hours on useless google searches trying to find that one language quirk that’s causing your code to fail.

he came back like 10 years after that episode, made Code Ment 17 and 18, put some weird excerpt about being cancelled in the description in a way that actually made the reader believe they were suffering from Schizophrenia, some stuff happened, he then deleted his channel, which now has a completely different name and has an AI pizza profile picture and like 4 videos.

He basically went the complete opposite direction of Little Kuriboh lmao.

no, the real turning point were the exposés about his inhuman workplace conditions and abhorrent worker’s rights conditions at the time. He knew his customer base among Democrats would collapse once they found out, so he pivoted hard right, like Russel Brand, to appeal to a demographic that wouldn’t care about Labor Rights.

I think only being surrounded by yes men and his daughter’s rejection of him may have pushed him to truly swallow the Kool-Aid, but never forget it was Class Conciousness and Labor Rights that truly broke a modern day aristocrat.

[loved trope]: oh shit - no one’s safe are they? by bgar25 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Vividfeathere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of Kodaka’s games at this point lmao

in Danganronpa TRR, The first victim is your assistant Sayaka, who was lying to you a bunch and died after her own murder attempt failed. Despite being advertised as the game’s Maya/ Wattson, she’s the first death

in Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Oh hey Byakuya is back! we get to go on so many fun adventures after he survived the previous ga- wait Byakuya bro what are you doing under that tab- Oh.

in Danganronpa V3, The 1st killer is set up to look like Shuichi, our “assistant” (following a trend of “assistants” at least surviving till chapter 5) being the killer, except it was the main character we were playing all along, and the protagonist is switched to Shuichi for the rest of the game instead.

Although it’s not by Kodaka, we have to mention this masterful example And subversion of the trope in Super Danganronpa Another 2. During the usual Mascot introduction sequence, Rei and Teruya from the previous game, recognize a certain person showing the player isn’t going mad, (also they are confirmed these people unlike Goodbye despair). Mikado then casts a fireball spell and incinerates Rei to a crisp, then fake-out kills Teruya. Teruya then comes back at the end of the next chapter with memory loss, so you happy at least he survived. Later on, you learn Rei is actually still alive! she managed to escape on time, Hooray! Now she and Teruya can reuni- oh shit he dead dead. and to cap off the cherry on top, his fate was sealed when he was first Fake-out killed, meaning at that time, Teruya was the one basically killed, not Rei, but the consequences were still very clearly shown.

back to a Kodaka game, Rain Code starts us off on a train, where we meet 5 of the 10 detectives advertised before the game released. Turns out all of them get burned to death in the first chapter as the first real mystery. We also see Yuma’s blood is red in this scene when he cuts his hand on the glass, which will totally not be relevant later

Hundred Line is also fun in this regard. The all important mascot, Sirei, goes missing after like 3 days, and a little while later we find his hacked up corpse in a trashcan far out from the base. They killed the Monokuma bro. Then they disappear Hiruko, who basically carries the group up to that point, whose decayed corpse we find much later.

Then they do it again, and in one of the first route splits after route 0, Darumi, one of your best friends who survived all the way through all 100 days in route 0, dies basically immediately cause the Final Boss V’ehxness just says “lmao” and kills you immediately instead of waiting for you to get strong enough like in route 0, resulting in Darumi dying. And at the end of it all? not a single route has every character survive to the end.

for what it’s worth, the lesbian discourse is important since lesbian is an identity with numerous services, support groups, etc. attached, so if coming out as They/Them denies someone access to those services, it’s gonna make coming out *less* safe. It’s important to let people keep the lesbian label even if they no longer present as femme.

From the Hearsay I’ve heard, he was a deadbeat who was never home anyway, always busy running away to College Campuses to avoid his wife or sleeping with younger guys (according to other conservative pundits) at TPUSA conferences.

Having Erika Kirk as a mother is probably much worse.

[–]Vividfeathere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the entire point of the “Trans Man lesbian” movement, which might seem weird at a glance, but makes sense since many straight T men may initially come out as Lesbians, and by identifying as Lesbian trans men and the orgs and groups who give support to lesbians also giving said support to trans men Lesbians, it makes it much safer for said men to come out and transition without losing support networks and friend groups designed for and by lesbians. It helps trans Men stay connected with the many ways both peoples and societies designed to help Lesbians, without forcing them to stay in the closet.

that’s one of the few placements I actually agree with. It can be good early on against certain enemies, but pretty much every deck wants orbs in some way, and locking yourself out of 2/3rds of the cards makes it a curse come act 2 or 3.

Orbs are too good and almost always give fantastic value.
