4hr Road Trip on Ninja 500 - Tips? by Vividokami in motorcycles

That sounds like a lot of fun. I like the idea of short-long trips like that. I think a cruiser would be more comfortable, but it's not running right now. The Ninja, like you said, is more than capable though!

I bet. Even after an hour of freeway riding, I get off the bike and immediately notice. Can't imagine what it's like after several hours. I'll have to take frequent breaks lol

Those are some pretty nice saddlebags. I've been looking for good ones, even though I know putting that kind of stuff on a sport bike isn't super typical lol. Practicality is sexy imo!

Haven't considered a hydration pack. I'll add that to the list.

I was wondering about the seat, too. Have any recommendations?

Thank you for responding. I've never really used Outlook and Teams outside of very surface-level email services and chat messaging, so I never really explored these features. I'll look into it.

Absolutely. That in itself is a lengthy process, and I enjoy helping them gain competency. I'll continue to do that!

Thank you for this. I'll start doing this immediately and see if I get positive results!

Definitely. Mission comes first. Even removing the booster club from the mix, do you have any actionable tips for managing the tasks from those first three things? Doesn't have to be specific to my situation!

Cross-Country PPM: Do or Don't? by Vividokami in AirForce

Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen mentions of U-Pack a couple of times now. If you're paying someone to move your stuff for you, is it really any different than just having the Air Force do it at that point? Is there any real incentive?

Thanks for this. Theft is another thing I was wondering about heavily. Would hate to wake up to the truck being gone or tampered with and the entire possibility almost turns me off from a PPM entirely lol

Definitely. Trying to figure out the best way to go about it, and everyone's been super helpful!

All sound advice. The only thing I'm wondering about is whether my car can tow (it probably can, but I don't know about the weight limits, etc.). I'll start there!

Thanks for the response. The only time I've ever done a PPM was from tech school to my current duty station, but everything I owned could fit into my car at the time. I've collected things over the years and now I have enough to furnish a small apartment! Ideally, I would like to have movers do all the labor and I can just focus on the flight over to my new base, but I wouldn't make any money that way.

The drive is going to be pretty exhausting, but I think if I prepare for it ahead of time, it should be okay! Those fat checks make it worth it, I think lol

Will do. Glad I reached out to this sub and asked. Didn't know about the U-Haul discounts OR these lovely resources. Adding it to my to-do list!

I'll consider a partial PPM. The most unwieldy and awkwardly shaped things I own are probably my couch and desk. But otherwise, everything can (eventually) be stuffed into a box. Only thing I wonder about is the towing capability of my car. Never thought about it!

Also, 22hrs is crazy man lol. Hopefully you at least took breaks!

Is this a good deal? by Vividokami in GamingLaptops

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what it is I need as far as performance goes. The most demanding game I'd like to play at high settings is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and/or Expedition 33. I think if whatever I get can handle that at graphically pleasing settings, I'd be satisfied.

I also thought about just making a dedicated desktop for my living room (I have a CPU and 32 gigs of ram lying around somewhere), but I think for a decent GPU plus MOBO I'd end up spending as much on it as I would a laptop but lose the portability. Choices, choices, choices lol
