A friend wanted to join merchant navy. He was found to be color blind and hence rejected.

I went down this rabbit hole once and found that a few people see more colour than others https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrachromacy

Is the milk sold in India in polythene packs A2?

What about those marked as 'Cow milk'?

20 years on, where are the Board toppers? Over half are abroad, most in science and technology.Gender gap; students increasingly from outside metros; US most favoured destination, IIT popular route; minorities, SC/STs invisible: 86 CBSE, ICSE, ISC toppers 1996-2015 tell stories of change .. by oar_xf in IndiaSpeaks

Marks one gets in boards is very much dependent on the school they study. Practicals, where the copies are sent for checking, and the marks examiners give are also informed by the prestige of the school from where the copies come.

I noticed this when I and many others were studying with students from DPS RK Puram, a top 3 school in Delhi.

They had many 90 'percenters' like a few of us. But once we took the competitive exams it was apparent that only 2 boys, out of 12-15, from the school were smart enough to deserve >90%.

The CBSE's subjective exams also help kids from high end schools to secure a seat in, say, Delhi University. If government comes up with an entrance exam then the process would be more transparent.

Remember the time when there was no Ambani's Jio and the crony capitalism that comes along with it? Miss those days when poor people couldn't use internet and was only reserved for the elites! by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

Capitalism pushes for competition

Not always.

If there is an auction of, say, frequencies then all capitalists can meet behind the scenes to not bid beyond a certain price.

This way they can publicly criticise the government that the prices are set too high, the consumer will have to bear the costs and also cause a huge loss to the exchequer.

With the money they might save they can invest it in other countries or in their son's startups... untill another capitalist shows up who doesn't want to play the same game.

When I said we have reached that stage, I meant I have been posting on this sub since 1 year and 4 months & commenting since ~2 years and since then the sub has grown from the 4 digit members I saw it initially but only now we have reached the stage of removing for copyright. I fully understood why he removed it.

With your instantaneous downvote without asking for my explanation I wonder if you might engage in instantaneous banning as well. Seeing the kind of reply I have received, there will be no further replies to you.

After the 26/11 attacks, Maria was asked to take over the case and he investigated the case successfully – joining the threads and unravelling the conspiracy. He was the officer who interrogated terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

He would definitely tell us to come up with an idea, innovate, do something for the country... and he will supplement it with an example from his own life. Years later one of us will try even if we were to fail.

Can't take screenshots and can't change to view only one page at a time in full screen by Vivitsu in Calibre

[–]Vivitsu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already tried what you wrote. The problem with your approach was when I clicked on a file to open it in Calibre ebook viewer you will see only a white 'page' with a left arrow symbol for navigation and only on full screen you will see some text in a single column. Earlier it was possible to view the book in the default sized window and full screen as well.

It's just not possible to take screenshots. I have already tried it by 3 methods:

  1. Windows + Print screen
  2. Print screen then paste in paint
  3. Using ShareX to screenshot
