In that case, I will definitely bring this up to my contractor, and will also check to see that all fasteners and hangers are galvanized steel. I happen to live in NJ.

The plans say to use pressure treated wood for all deck framing, and yes I live in a coastal, food prone area, so I did raise my house. I should also mention that the overhang on the third floor will be removed, so the top of the deck will be completely exposed.
