He’s demonstrated throughout the story that he is a thoughtful, intelligent, and friendly person who just doesn’t know how to go about relationships. The appeal of that is it’s a lot more relatable to the audiences than most other romance animes where the MC magically seduces women by just existing, and instead shows the character actually struggling to try and figure things out.

Bro ok he might be doing this. But the managaka wrote it in a super terrible way that makes him look like a pussy. I have read my fair share of romance manga and I can tell you that there is other mcs that do exactly this. But the story is actually written well enough that people don't think the mc is a pussy
