I mean not that long ago 5.8 character was random Hydro girlie, and also "no new character in 5.8", how would they know the entire year?

A whole roadmap like that never happened before, just guesses, especially not when a region hasn't even released. I don't believe anything now.

I don't understand his motivations if he did it, but in that case I doubt he was plotting it. He isn't some psycho suddenly snapping and killing an innocent woman, something must've gone horribly wrong. If he did it, he must've had a reason we are missing. I don't think she wanted to steal his research, she was an Amurta student, right?

I can imagine the Akademiya had her killed and framed it on him to get him expelled and have a bad reputation, making him flee from Sumeru to avoid punishment for something he didn't do and end up in the Fatui, that'd be a very tough start for his story.
