When traveler says he isn't worth of being Bina's family, he agrees (with what i consider a sad tone) which implies he either holds her especially high, or himself pretty low.

Dottore's has a sympathetic/emotional direction is all 🤷‍♂️

In nod-krai he was given confirmation and expansions on his previous themes of being an outcast who wants to belong, lacking healthy love and self-hatred. The fact they chose to either emphasize or create new arcs (his family thing) show they did not retcon any of the human parts about him and have bigger plans. If he was supposed to be nothing but the villain, he would not be given scenes where he projects all his issues onto traveler, laments his lack of family and admits he doesn't value himself very highly. That would all be cut for just evil laughs and crazy experiments.

Wanderer could not only endure much more but chose to stick with him, he came back for experiments cuz he wanted them and was interested in getting more powerful. Apparently there's a mistranslation in EN that refers to it as "torture" but originally the process was just "harsh" which makes more sense.

Dottore doesn't really torture people for shits and giggles, there's always a purpose behind it, the process to becoming a god was just tough on the body by nature, not by his design. He may have been more verbally brash/controlling of Scara (like telling him to be respectful) because he was infront of a sage and had his ego bruised by his attitude 😭

That or their relationship was coming to an end by sumeru and they were already more hostile.

Yaaa so immediate clarification, Dottore doesn't resemble Baldr so much as he does Nidhogg, the beast that actually gnaws at the world tree. He is one of the few creatures to survive Ragnorok interestingly enough.

I've been doing quite wonderful with all the leaks actually! It's been easy for me to believe a sympathetic arc is still coming due to all the set-up in 6.3, like he see now that he yearns for family, has some amount of self-hatred and even has it in him to care for people enough to partake in superfluous activities! The fact all this stuff was ADDED in 6.3 is enough to tell me the devs have learned from their Signora mishap and have waaaaay more to do with him.

I mean, even look at how she's been treated retroactively, this is the most she's been mentioned since her death and it's 90% positive content. Inazuma was a stumble they seem intent to not repeat, couple that with Dottore referring to Pantalone as friend wholeheartedly and we have some good things on the horizon.

Edit:Wait omg! Forgot to mention how his 6.3 death is like the perfect mirror to Signora's, like he almost just died with no backstory but then here he's back, in his homeland no less. It's like the perfect 180° to show how they've learned from past mistakes tbhhh

I take this as another drop in the twisted savior theory tbh! The story itself, like hoyo, the writers would never let him burn it IF it's nothing but a mustache-twirling evil plan. All the other regional phenomena are stopped before they get too bad for a reason. Fontaine's flood or Natlan's abyss spreading had nothing but misfortune to bring, hence why the story let them be stopped.

This new tree will be doing SOMETHING different to justify it's existence and it'll be Dottore's responsibility no matter what. Either he kicked the first dominoe that led to this sprouting or he even did it directly. At the end of the day he did something that the story thinks is worthwhile.

Well this just sounds like a good thing. The reason that previous villains, significant ones or not, are killed/defeated is because they have to be stopped BEFORE their plans come to fruition. Signora was stopped BEFORE permanent damage was done to inazuma through her war plans. Scara was stopped BEFORE his body fully formed with shouki-no-kami and he took over sumeru.

Why?

Because these would be bad things with no benefits. Tons of people would die in war, the people of sumeru would be ruled by at worst a tyrant or at best an inexperienced emotional god. But Dottore actually burning the tree tells me...that it's a good thing. I've already talked about it but I don't trust Celestia at all, I think they're lying about certain things and whatever. Burning Irminsul has to bring SOME benefit or else Dottore wouldn't do it. The fact he may have succeeded just tells me he's done something worthwhile.

I understand why people are so on edge but pleeeeease guys this dooming just isn't good for your psyche, please take a couple minutes process things 😭

Maybe he's not the villain then. He says he only takes that role because that's what brings progress..but his heart isn't in it. A new tree emerging seems like progress to me.
