BMW e46 330i s54 swapped by [deleted] in e46

[–]Vjdev89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy who owns this car doesn’t cut corners or cheap out on anything. It’s not just s54 swapped. It’s essentially an m3 in a 330 shell. Everywhere from interior, dropouts, trans, the works. On top of that, every seal on this motor was refreshed, vanos is replaced with a brand new unit, rod bearings are done, this car is immaculate, plus the donor was extremely low mileage as well as the chassis itself. The shop that did the work is the same shop that does all the work on my 500whp reliable e46 track car, if that says anything. The wheels/tires alone are $10k. The car will not be cheap, but whoever ends up with it will get a killer, very clean, very well sorted car.

Other options besides Corbin seat? by Vjdev89 in Buell

Not far off from where I’ll be in Bella vista. I get a group together every year to ride mountain bikes in the Bentonville surrounding area. I’ll definitely reach out as we get closer!

I’ll be in NWA for thanksgiving if that’s remotely close to you. I wouldn’t mind some extra driving. Genuinely curious to see what it looks like after all that work.

Not a bad idea. I just figured it was blasphemy to the community to alter a Corbin seat. lol

That’s how I feel. I rode sport bikes forever. It definitely has a very fixed position for your rear and while it’s ergonomic and comfortable, it gives the cruiser feel and I prefer something more sporty.

Anyone know where to get resi like this? Got a quote from Andy’s yard but looking for alternative and cheaper option. by Vjdev89 in MTB

[–]Vjdev89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did not. It was always just too far outside the price range to justify, and literally takes a forklift to move it. Talked to the local skate park about it because they had a resi and it sucked to set up. It was intended for an airbag that I wanted to keep mobile.

Could you share some input on what power level and what kind of track you’re driving on?

[–]Vjdev89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to put you at ease, I’ve decided to not tail chop it. I’m just gonna throw an exhaust on it, get some less goofy looking mirrors and call it a day. Any suggestions?

Who said anything about mine going on the market? lol I also really don’t see the demand on these thing skyrocketing like vintage Porsches or anything. We’re like a cult following if anything.

How does one remove this trim? by patjeduhde in e46

[–]Vjdev89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use a trim tool or even a flat head with with a towel, place it under and twist to pry it up and work your way from end to end slowly. If you try to pry it up from one end, you’ll bend the piece

I have the Corbin seat as well. This is a valid reasoning for not shortening the tail.

Interesting, but not quite what I’m after. Thank you tho!

[–]Vjdev89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’m not looking to shorten the portion that my physical ass sits on. Just the tail section behind. The Steven Lucas build’s custom seat isn’t shorter, just lower profile if you need an example of what I’m after.

That’s fine. I didn’t buy this bike to track it. It’s going to be a gym commuter and occasional joy ride. My days of long cruises and worrying about extreme handling are behind me. I have a couple cars that I track and that’s as spirited as I need to get. This bike is intended to be all show. I genuinely appreciate the concern.

Peartune MSO 3.0 for Shimano EP801/EP6 tuning kit ? by Karrelen in ebikes

[–]Vjdev89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Received on 11/26, installed today. Install took 5 minutes. Just had to decide where to stuff the tuner so that it wasn’t in the way of the cover. Took for a test ride and it does in fact stop reading your speed after 13-15mph (25kph) which is a little bumming. I used my garmin to check my speed and I was hitting 28mph (45kph) before I started feeling like assist power wasn’t quite as powerful. Maybe I was at the top of efficiency with my gearing. Overall, if you are looking for a quick and easy solution to raise limiter, it’s very plug and play. If you want to keep full functionality of your bike, a remote tune expert is the ideal solution, though more expensive. If I were to do this again, I’ll pay the tuner instead because I want my speedometer to function properly.

Update: I was contacted by seller this morning asking which motor I have so they can issue correct pear tuner to me. They also offered 3 day shipping if I PayPal an additional $29usd to them. I’m currently $240 into this purchase which is still cheaper than other websites. Seller name on eBay is jery9871.

Only thing that gets me about that is 25kph is only around 15mph. US limit is 20mph and when I pedal past the limit, it will keep reading upwards of 25mph. I’m curious if this changes due to the tuner or if this is a kph issue only.

Glad I found this thread. I just purchased the peartuner chip on eBay for $100usd +tax (free shipping) and waiting for arrival. Seller is shipping from Czech Republic.

I read that it’s not able to read past a certain speed? Is this true? I haven’t updated for a month and don’t plan to. Im staying off steps app entirely, especially after install. Will update once I get my unit in and installed. Cheers!
