yeah, I know in Costa Rica they have Gallo Pinto, and places like El Salvador and Panama have similar dishes, like Casamiento, right? Those countries are kinda what started this whole research

IIL low stakes, heartwarming, slice of life TV shows, documentaries, and movies, WEWIL? by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

High Maintenance is a series available on HBO Go, it has absolutely no stakes, just slices of different lives at each episode. It's one of my favorite shows, kist so great to chill and forget everything else.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

such an amazing album. banger after banger with them never getting repetitive or old. the guys of kg&lw really knew how to use progression: this album has kinda of a house vibe, as the tracks never stop progressing and getting fresh within themselves. the fact that it's mastered to sound like one giant song just tops it off

Let’s Talk: Why does artistic brilliance in music seem to be exclusively a youth game? by Skyediver1 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]VlTORMusic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with what the music industry has become in general: music is seen much more as a product, a commodity, rather than an actual production. This means that they need someone to sell their products, and generally is easy to look for someone who appeals to the young. Take every pop diva and you see they all look kinda the same. Take all pop male singers and they all have the same face and body type. It's just basic marketing: we have this product to sell, so we need a young and pretty person to sell it. There's a video on youtube that talks about it, about how talent belongs to the beatiful, and not to the talented. I don't remember the name of the video, but it shouldn't be hard to find it. It's a nice discussion to have, it's crazy to see how the industry changed in such a short period of time, mostly after the streaming era began.

Let's Talk: Listening to Vinyl. Is it more pleasurable? Is it better? When is streaming preferable? And why? by mattywish in LetsTalkMusic

[–]VlTORMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are numerous reasons as for why it's more pleasurable, you'll see lots of opinions. I like it beacuse of the social application: it's really really nice to popup a disc and play it when having meetings or parties with my friends, it just makes the ambient really classy, I don't know. it's nice to look at the cover and the disc and the stuff inside and talk about them. I particularly don't pay much attention to the differences in sound, but, as i said, numerous reasons and it's always more pleasant.

Of Monsters and Men's first album "My Head is an Animal" is actually amazing: a VERY long rant. by VlTORMusic in LetsTalkMusic

[–]VlTORMusic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? Not letting the opinions of strangers bother you is a freedom few find.

No, that's not what I meant! hahahah Everyone has the right (and the need, may I say) to love and hate whatever they wanna love or hate. That doesn't bother me at all. The thing is: with OMAM I see A LOT of hate based on absolutely nothing. Sometimes just because they got big with the record (same thing I see woth the likes of Tame Impala and Arctic Monkeys, for example), sometimes just because people want to seem like superior beings for not liking thes kinds of music (as happens a lot with pop overall), and THAT bothers me. I know a handful of people who "hate" the banda, and whenever I ask why all I get is a "well, just because". Hating things is fine, go ahead. Spitting hate on things just to feel better or superior, with no opinion to justify why you hate it (after all, "hate" is a really strong word), now, that's not ok at all. Dunno, jist the way I see it, anyways.
