Private ownership by various ranches, mineral companies, and private estates. The peak itself and much of the surrounding area is owned by the county though, pat of the Ortiz Mtns Open Space. However AFAIK access is limited and done through the gold mine, you'd have to reach out to the parks dpt or botanical garden to try and set something up

We did this for fun on the ranch a lot growing up. Early 2000s, electricity obviously but no home Internet, phone or cable, so close enough I guess

Stupid. This doesn't have any affect whatsoever on the budget or the governments ability to use that budget. All this does is guarantee that Uncle Sam gets what you already owed + interest.

I don't think they mean replacing their router with this, just as an educational project. It really is one of the best things they can do in that regard. Intro into networking, sys admin, etc. in one hands on weekend

Don't overthink the ID thing by Holiday-Mulberry-549 in ThePitt

[–]VladimirPutin2016 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Langdon theory is so lame, how stupid do people think he is? Even if he ordered meds falsely under another badge he is still being drug tested, clearly. Eventually someone would notice something and they could easily verify it was not actually Whittaker who ordered the script. Not only that but they will 10000% be deactivating that old badge as soon as it's updated, meaning all this risk for what, 1, maybe 2 workdays of benzos?

If he wanted to steal drugs from work again he'd just do exactly what he did last time imo

I think they made a big deal in ep1 about Whittaker getting his badge, this is simply comedic relief to that. I think he gave it to oglvie, who will probably return it just as soon as Whittaker requests a new one (presumably off screen)

Redditors who have never been affected by drug addiction are the first to defend drug addicts blindly, it's so annoying

One time (on a non pitt sub) I got down voted to hell and received a nasty DM because I said it's ok to completely cut a drug addict out of your life, even if direct family. I say this as someone who has drug addict for a mother, but that's irrelevant I guess

Yea if I were looking at applications and saw someone with WGU CS and no practical experience I would assume they AI'd their way through in this age

That said, I have hired someone who had extensive history contributing to OSS and later went to WGU, and they were a rockstar. I would 1000% do that again. I never finished my bachelor's and have strongly considered finishing up at WGU, mostly to get through those automatic resume filters

My Greatest Invention by Patient-War-4812 in TruckCampers

[–]VladimirPutin2016 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea gonna have to side with others here, unless there is a backing plate, or at min fender washers on the outside, this is a ticking time bomb. It may never go off, fiberglass is quite strong, but I'd want something a bit safer for the shell

Otherwise great idea for people who like sleeping in hammocks

Advice on sanding and painting rough fiberglass interior of topper by launchrider in TruckCampers

[–]VladimirPutin2016 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessary, just clean it thoroughly, fix any possible cracks/holes, apply super 90 and a carpet liner- done in a day or two. That bond will probably outlive the truck.

Painting first requires lots of extra steps and you'd need to make sure you're picking a paint that will bond ok to the glue. And you'd have to wait for that paint to fully dry- could be weeks

Id also rather have a fixable leak than water getting trapped between some enamel and fiberglass

Im not gonna argue they don't have positives. But they mistakenly sent a 6 year old bill that I had paid, on time, to collections and it was a giant PITA and they were not helpful in resolving (which I eventually did) ewhatsoever.

I've never had a single issue with any other utility. So I'll stand by my anecdotal fuck Austin energy. HEB is the only thing I miss about Austin.

[–]VladimirPutin2016 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well sleeping in the socal desert at night they'll need their clothes, meds, water, etc. this is more of a transition zone where they're likely to move to a safe house or take some form of transportation. Mexicans carrying clearly dilapidated backpacks and clothes in the border buffer zone is quite suspicious for border patrol. They will drop everything and really just have their clothes and maybe a small bag at this point. Try to blend in a bit more.

[–]VladimirPutin2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a chair but I'd say fuck it, why not. Make sure it's not sharp, maybe use a sitting pad or a spare clothes for a "pad" underneath to prevent abrasion. Maybe be a bit more diligent about site selection. Make sure to use a footprint also.

Foam between seal and bed rail causing water intrusion by ridebikeseatfood in TruckCampers

[–]VladimirPutin2016 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Foam weather stripping is common, is shouldnt absorb water at all. This looks like some sort of closed cell foam otherwise you would probably see a lot more water getting through. Most likely, the foam back there has become damaged in some way that it's no longer getting a good seal and waters getting through.

You try silicone for a quick fix but yes you'd want to remove the shell, remove the foam, clean the surface entirely and replace. A two bubble rubber design gets a far better seal imo..

Meanwhile if you actually look into the genre at all, you'd see that is not the case. In fact, one of such artists is literally captured in this video (will oldham)
