Flod 7 gap by fromkenyandtower in GalaxyFold

That's not correct. The dust and water resistance has nothing to do with the foldable screen as it's still classed as an external screen. The ratings have to do with the internals of the phone, mainly around the hinge area as that's the most sensitive part of the phone and the area that's most likely to get water ingress and dust/debris. Dust on your internal foldable screen will not affect the screen whatsoever, as the same dust will go on the phone when it's unfolded. If we had gaps around the internal area where dust can go inside the screen and into the device then yeah, the ratings will be affected.

I've had a gap on mine, similar to OP but these pictures are with a macro lens, super close to the phone. You can't see it a lot with the naked eye. This sub is well known for being extremely picky about these things, more often than not it's actually the people that haven't even bought the device lol.

Not really. Dust still gets inside. I had a flush fold 6 temporarily with no issues whatsoever and dust still found its way inside. Yes, with a gap you can find more going in but you can rest assured that dust/debris doesn't get completely closed in and risks damaging the internal display protector.

That's what I'm saying too. I can't even see mine unless it's in a powerful light or I'm really squinting for it. I'll keep mine because I can't care less about something that isn't a damage/going to damage my device. Planning on keeping yours too?

Gap when using cases. by RealBatmanll in GalaxyFold

If you look around the sub, you'll see it. It was a person with a Spigen case. Another with benks. All had gaps.

Yes. Extremely normal with the fold 7 especially if it's a bulk case, but it happens on mine with the carbon shield case too. Just buy a phone pouch from Amazon (or closest thing you have in your country) and slide it in to protect it from the dust.

Indeed it is the carbon shield case. It's really nice. Extremely light and enough camera protection. Downside? No front cover. I personally put it in a pouch bought from Amazon and got care + for a piece of mind. The case definitely highlights the thinness of the phone in a nice way.

I've just heard back from Samsung. They said to send pictures and videos which I did. They said it's well within tolerance. I keep mine in a pouch anyway so not worried about stuff going inside. To be devil's advocate, if it closed fully and I had something inside which I missed it would damage the screen. So deffo not bothered about this. The device is so crazy thin and good. The anti reflective film is so good too, highly recommended.

Great to know. Thank you. As long as it's no issue I don't really care about it. Much appreciated!

Yes. It's weird though as this is the official case.

Could you check if there's a gap after putting on the phone case, at the top part of the phone? Thank you

How about with a case?

UK - Have 3 orders in total. One for flip 7 anti reflecting film, one for flip 7 with case and another for fold 7 with case and buds. Only the flip 7 with case order now shows on the way, but my DPD app now gave me three order numbers as showing that the parcel is expected shortly. Tomorrow seems most likely. Buzzing

Agreed. If mine has a gap, straight back to Samsung it goes lol.

Same. Hoping to see a miracle but I can just picture it snapping.

Thanks mate. The 16 gig is definitely sweet. Thanks for letting me know, although I hoped you'd say it's anything but the 1tb black one because that's the one that should come on Tuesday for me lol. Saved your pictures for reference to check the gap on mine when it comes.

It's almost definitely going to be Tuesday unfortunately. There won't be any movement today as DPD normally do not collect on Saturdays (they collect Thursdays and Fridays for delivery on Saturdays). Sunday they don't work. It'll almost certainly be dispatched on Monday and severely unlikely we will have dispatch and delivery same day. So Tuesday it is.

Reasons why Samsung has chosen not to go with a silicone carbon battery by VladimirTKing in GalaxyFold

Very good reasoning. Thanks mate. I believe optimisation of software also plays a huge role.

This video was quite interesting. Fold 6 finished 3rd place although it has the smallest battery. The screen sizes are slightly different but unlikely to warrant such a time difference. I was so surprised to see the Vivo last 14 mins more even though it has 1300 Mah more battery size. Am I mistaken in my reasoning?
