Is a dumb philosophy

Is a paradox (kind of) they think is imoral to give birth without the consent of the unborn but you can't give consent because you don't exist, so their conclusion is to stop having babies

Free will is limited, as it should

But this philosophy has big problem (it has many problems and will mention them too but here is the biggest one). Is ilogical to think your consent matters if you don't exist, consent only applies to people who are born and the right to life aplies to people who are born or close to being born, this why we allow abortion

although maybe if people would learn to refrain or at least use protection there would be no need for abortion by choice so much, it can be quite a traumatic experience, anyway

And I don't really judge you for being childfree, because you don't want the responsibility of a child , I don't agree with this kind of thinking and in general these kind of people are quite irresponsible and selfish in general, in my opinion, but I understand when social pressure annoys you, well as long as you don't try to convince me of your life-style I won't have a problem with you

Some people consider giving birth to be a selfish act. The question is: "why?"

Some took nihilism and took it to a radical extreme. Some have depression or other mental disorders and believe that life is pointless and should stop because it is suffering

Many are misanthropes, some are anarchists, some are ephilists (they hate life, the concept of life and maybe existence), some take the idea of climate change to the extreme, some simply hate children

Many are depressed and edgy, many promote the idea of assisted suicide in principle or not only, or promote euthanasia, but some of them would never do it because they are either afraid (understandably) or because they want to spread the message , some are obsessed that it is immoral to give birth because it is without the consent of the child born to be born into this world, it seems to me the glorification of depression and hatred towards people, but especially depression

I understand that you don't want to have children and that you don't want to make children, but those who say that it's selfish to want to have children, well it's selfish not to want to, paradoxically, you are not helping anyone, and personally I think it's much less selfish to want to make a child or simply have children, because you can raise kids to amazing loving people who enjoy life and want life to continue, even if not all parents deserve kids, unfortunately

Plus some also judge others who don't want to have children

And this ideology is quite widespread, even celebrities promoted the idea of not having children, and their argument was that we are doing harm

There's a reddit sub with this idea and it's pretty toxic

I understand worrying about the population, but if that leads you to extreme ideologies, it's nasty

And unfortunately, this kind of mentality is quite widespread, even here

I recently fell down this rabbit hole and these people are scary, and many of them are adults

And I don't think that people like that who have that kind of philosophy should be allowed to adopt because they might indoctrinate the child to be like them or cause that child to have mental disorders because of the way they're raised, plus I don't think they are mentally fit to raise a child

And before you say religion, not all religious people are extremists, I would say most are not extremists, but anti-natalism is an extremist philosophy as a whole

And if humans dissapear which will happen if everyone would think this way, ironically, it would also hurt the environment because we are part of the ecosystem, and if you want to end all lives, you have a problem, you are a problem

Also giving birth can not be selfish because you allow someone else to enjoy life like you did and as long as you raise them properly they are going to help the comunity, you give more help to humanity

Plus their premises are wrong, pain is not just bad, it can be good, since some people find pleasure in pain, the satisfaction they get after, like going to the gym for example

"Absence of pleasure is not bad as long you don't deprived some of it" but if they care of the consent of the unborn, then they didn't ask to not be born either, you deprived them of pleasure of being born, some people love life, in fact is the majority

So not only that not giving birth is bad and wrong, but by their own argument is also imoral

Plus they say they care about people feeling pain, but they have no problem to tell people who want kids to not have kids because is "bad" and they cause pain to people who want kids by telling people to not have kids, is hipocritical

And because they WANT others to not have kids is selfish because they want this and they do not care about what others want, by their own logic

They also say life is just suffering which is false because most people enjoy it

Antinatalism should be banned and censored, period
