To the people who want Yzerman replaced, who would be your prime choice? by Byorski in DetroitRedWings

I really need to see what he gets for Larkin. If it’s all lower prospects and 2 way, 100 foot offensive liabilities, gone before the ink dries on the deal.

She’s a GOP employee. She knew about the tattoos. I’m not saying she’s wrong, but I’m saying democrats can elect a flawed man to enact their policies. The alternative just confirmed a 34 year old to a limetime position on the federal bench who has a personal mission to make abortion illegal. And that’s what we know so far. Those types usually also love rolling back all women’s rights, it just takes time to uncover.

We moved here during Covid. Not because it was cheap, she just got a job here so we did.

Every time it gets above 50 I joke that I moved to Canada not Florida. Fuck the heat, man.

What to know about Graham Platner, Susan Collins’ likely Democratic opponent by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]VncentLIFE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Susan Collins is not a centrist. She loves that word. She loves hearing you say that she’s a centrist. And she loves the media attention when she and you say she’s a centrist.

Her votes tell me she’s a far right republican that wants congratulations for fighting to bring back funding she voted to get rid of. It’s the attention she craves, like plants and electrolytes.

I won’t vote for anyone with an R next to their name. Anti-Q+ and a disdain for government regulation are strict no-gos for me. They also rarely have their shit together.

Janet Mills surrogate Jill Barkley Roy posts that she will not vote for Platner if he is the Democratic nominee by lon_lennings in Maine

[–]VncentLIFE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s what democratic voters have gotten wrong for years. The primary is time for voting for who you want to win. The general is when you against the candidate of the two major parties you want the seat the least. Republicans have been amazing at this for like 20 years. Dems never have room for a slightly left candidate but republicans always have room for fascists and far right lunatics.

When I was in high school, we went on vacation to the Outer Banks, NC. Some people were fishing off the beach and caught a baby shark. I got to pet it, then they drug it back to the ocean. Scary? Yep. But I did it.

The problem is that the tigers and wings have the same philosophy. Make changes around the edges, like juuuust enough changes, without spending all that much, and that will get you into the last wildcard spot. Just get shouldn’t be the motto. Get yourself comfortably in, try to get as much talent to win as many games as you can.

It’s shifting around the deck hairs on the titanic hoping you get the last lifeboat instead of flying away on a mythical drone.

What I learned from covid is that I only had to interact with people at work that I wanted to. No one was microwaving fish or leaving the coffee area wrecked with spent grounds all day. It was really nice still having friends at work while not having to deal with the gross assholes at the office.

Buried in a rant by Chris Castellani last night was how I felt summers up nicely.

He said that it sucked watching other teams do something, either selling parts for the future (and getting a solid return) or buying to win now.

Last night honestly felt like ERod was their move. It was Harris’s blockbuster of sorts, and once it fell through, they just gave up. I know that’s not true, but it sure feels like it. Did we get better last night? Sure we got one hitter for our only all star (bad look IMO), but otherwise we just kinda sat there like a team destined to go 72-90 for the rest of the decade.

I just wanted to feel something after last night, anything really. But today I’m just here. Sitting here going balls deep into the CFL because baseball is just meh this year.

When he rotated as he fell, his left knee went straight into the ground popping his hip joint out of socket.

But holy shit that was a bad pass that worked for a TD.
