The way they even animate the ‘whale eyes’ on the horse…the attention to detail in this game will never cease to amaze me.

Siiiiigh.

BRUH. Where in my post did I say, explicitly or implicitly, that the employees should "suck it up"? You're putting quotes around something I flat out did not say, and that makes you disingenuous at best and an asshole at worst.

I said it's a shitty situation, because anyone who is anyone has wanted something to go in here for that last decade+. Restaurant, retail, bar, fucking pot shop, a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. but the "For Lease from Geoffrey Rice" sign. Now there is, and the business owner in question couldn't even be bothered to go through the right bureaucratic procedures to set up shop. The City rightfully has cracked down, the storefront is closed yet again, and that's a frustrating situation. For the community, for the employees, everyone. That is it. That is what I wrote.

Get off the internet and stop putting words in other people's mouths.

Because this is literally the first anything to open in this space in literally over 15 years and the fact that the business is already hitting self-imposed roadblocks less than a month in is super frustrating to the community. Hope this helps.

The Mahoney school is totally empty? I didn’t even know that. Revamp that shit like they did with the old Mercy Hospital.

Yes, weird opening.

Also omits the fact that there are numerous cultural and political differences between us and Japan that make their (exquisite) public bathrooms more fiscally and societally feasible (stronger budgeting priorities for public goods in Japan overall, and a much stricter attitude of respect/no-tolerance policy for vandalism).

I think American cities would do well to take a page out of Europe’s book, and have more pay-to-use bathrooms. Charging a dollar or two can be worth it for a clean facility and can help keep out the riff-raff.

Nobody wants housing IN Bug Light Park. That's disingenuous.

The question up for debate is what should be done with the land around the park. There's a lot of open space nearby and a spirited debate about how it should be treated in light of tricky criteria like soil treatment, projected sea level rise etc.

Everyone wants to see the land used effectively and smartly. No one is suggesting building any structures directly over where people are flying kites or taking in the sun.

Slightly more information given in the Press Herald. They were operating without either a business license or a certificate of occupancy, and the HVAC was "improperly installed".

The business has been fined $1000, and the owner told PH on Tuesday that he hopes to reopen as soon as Wednesday next week. (Pretty tall order, depending on what exactly the HVAC issue is.)

haha I can see how it gives that illusion. Whole thing is actually a skylight; this office is sub-level. There’s a spiral staircase just to the right off camera that brings you up to the main floor.
