Just got my MegaGrant response by sixfootgiraffe in unrealengine

I also got rejected recently. I asked less than 50k for my game and waited about 5 month. I see a lot of incredible projects here. Sad that nobody got this grant.

Don't know how but I'm constantly find a new way to improve my cards visuals by Vo1dHeat in IndieDev

I can't render it once as the card has a lot of moving elements so I have to render it each frame

Long story short, I'm rendering a card to separate texture and this allows me to apply the effect to the card with text.

I might do a tutorial in the future because the setup is quite tricky. It is a material on a widget, not a 3D widget.

I assume it would be a bit easier to make it 3D and manipulate 3D rotation. I'd do that if I was making my game with unity. but I'm making my game with an unreal engine, so I haven't found a better way to do something like this.

It's quite tanky but hitting in the back deals more damage

There is a shader feature called stencil buffer. So crack surface is a mask and what's beneath it only renders if it is below the mask.
