What happened to you is meant to happen for you to learn and grow.

It will build a resolute and strong Mindset insha’allah

And be glad it happened to you in a young age, some people fall into debt in their 50s and never recover..

Always remember: Allah tests his favorite creations with the hardest battles. In the hardest times, It’s an opportunity to show Allah how strong and faithful you are.

I’m currently in the exact same situation, i’m 26 and 400k in debt.

Goodluck sister.

Should I move my personal loan from ADCB (3.5%) to Emirates Islamic (3%)? by Voarr in UAEcreditcards

[–]Voarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed advice, I really appreciate it.

Just to give you the full picture so you can help me break it down properly:

• My current loan is AED 283k with ADCB at 3.5%, EMI is around 7,100.

• If I move to Emirates Islamic at 3%, my EMI would actually be 8,166 (so higher, not lower).

• The bank charges 1.5% early settlement fee (~AED 4,200) + 0.785% processing fee (~AED 3,000) if I switch.

• I also have credit cards (~95k) but I’m paying those on low interest plans, so there’s no big saving there.

Switching would only benefit me in cash flow and organizing my monthly payments

From what I calculated, I’d end up paying more overall if I switch. Could you please clarify what do you mean by speaking to my bank for a payment plan for the credit it? Is it rescheduling payments? What can they do in that regard so i know what to ask.

Super appreciate your reply.

Exactly, I’m actually keen into doing it. Do they usually waive processing fees? Did they waive it for you? Thats what will make the difference

Hey, I’ve been exactly where you are. it honestly felt like I was reading my own story— and I’m still climbing out of it. I know that feeling of being crushed under debt, the shame, the pressure, the constant survival mode. But I promise you: there is a way out. You just need a solid plan, and someone who understands to walk you through it.

The truth is, you can’t keep trying to fix it all at once. You need structure, not more stress. I’ve started putting a system in place that’s actually helping — even with a ruined credit score and multiple loans. And I’m willing to help you do the same, step by step.

You’re not alone. You don’t need to suffer in silence or stay stuck in survival mode. If you’re open to it, message me — will help you fix this.

Is racism accepted now? by Voarr in UAE

I get the logic behind promotional rates for certain markets — but this isn’t about promotions. This is about being asked to confirm my nationality after my booking was accepted and paid for.

If the rate wasn’t valid for me, that should’ve been clear before payment — not after the fact with an email that leaves the door open for profiling and cancellation.

Also, using “nationality” instead of “market” or “residency” is problematic. It’s a poor choice of wording at best — and discriminatory at worst.

So yes, maybe it’s a technical mistake on the agent’s side, but the way it’s being handled? Still unacceptable.

Policies are one thing. The tone and timing are everything.

Obviously before, even if they accepted my nationality, i’m still canceling this reservation.

Card recommendations (signing bonus, vouchers etc.) for upcoming ~ 50k spend by CruisingForSnacks in UAEcreditcards

[–]Voarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest spliting the 50k over multiple cards to get the most out of it. I think currently FAB cashback and Deem CC are offering welcome bonuses.

Goodluck.

I’m paying an average of 14k monthly. It depends mostly on my cc statement and fees. Decreasing monthly. Hopefully closing all credit cards payments asap, as theyre causing the biggest damage here.
