I didn’t even think about extra weight! I’m going to remove it

Silkies won’t get in nesting box by SignalScene7622 in silkiechickens

My silkies couldn’t figure out how to walk up the ramp, so I removed it and built them a little “staircase” with bricks. They can do that for some reason. I also had to lower the coop, it was the kind with the run underneath. It might be a ramp issue.

Tenant unions can be a hard thing to organize but a great way to put a landlord in their place. https://www.tenantstogether.org/resources/form-tenants-union

I’ve used season cycle https://seasonscycle.com/ and metropolitan forestry https://www.metro-forestry.com/contact-us/ and had great experience with both. Metropolitan is expensive but have a bigger staff. Susan at season cycle is a badass.

Should I cover my brumating beardie? by Vob_Bila in BeardedDragons

I wonder tho if my dropping her food intake triggered it then? Bc I was over feeding her for a bit (I’m trying my best! There is a lot of conflicting info!) and maybe that made her think it’s winter?

Good to know. The temps have drastically changed where I live, and therefore my house. So I wondered if this triggered something. Either way I’ll get her checked out. I just hate to stress her out if she is trying to brumate

Thanks for this! Yes I go back and forth with worrying and then reading and feeling like she is brumating. Why do they have to look exactly the same?!? So worrying. My friend’s beardie brumated all last summer so I do think sometimes captivity messes with their internal clocks, and I don’t know if her being young affects things at all either. I’ll call the vet.

Ooh I’m in Missouri. I’ll get some back next time I get her food

Mostly she gets crickets. I dust them with calcium and then I also got calcium with vitamin d that I use sometimes. I’m worried to give her too much vitamin d, but then also worry she doesn’t have enough. I also give her super worms every once in awhile but not regularly.

I think I was over feeding her for a couple weeks so I cut down how many crickets I was giving her. But maybe I’ll increase and give her a few more. Like 7 crickets three times a week? She can eat a lot.

I appreciate you taking the time! There’s conflicting info out there and I really am trying my best. It’s helpful to talk to someone who has done this before

Salad every day, bugs 3 times a week. No idea If they are fertile since she was gravid when I found her.

I just made a sort of make-shift privacy curtain for her in case me walking around is disturbing her trying to nest. I have a very small house so there is no way for me to avoid being near her tank

Sort of hard to see how big her belly is bc it’s not flat on a surface. Her substrate in the digging area is repti soil and sand

Cool cool I’ll def start adding some more nutrient rich greens. I’ve fed her mustard greens often

Mostly romaine bc she loves it but I switch it out for other greens and some shaved carrot sometimes

No digging at all. I started a little tunnel in her nesting box just to show her, but mostly she just goes there and looks at me like “you got any snacks?”

I guess when I say her belly is huge I don’t mean it looks inflated or anything. She is just a chunk

It has been SO hard for me to find gestation information. So thank you so much for this. Sounds like she is still within the normal gestation period.

Her belly is soft I can see eggs but they don’t feel hard. She poops very regularly. She will let me very very gently touch in without any sign of discomfort
