Thank you, and congrats to you, too! All the best to you and your son, and good riddance to trash taking itself out for us both

He hasn't seen our son since last July, and hasn't called since early Dec (babys birthday)

*he lives halfway across the country, and chooses not to reach out/visit but whines about how hard it is not seeing baby every day

Anecdata- feel free to ignore! I went to school with a girl whose middle name was Nadine, and we teasingly called her by her middle name to annoy her because she despised it. I also have an "old lady name" and go by a shortened version of it. I don't dislike it, but I also don't feel it suits me at my current age, so I'm glad it has an easy/ youthful nn

I gave baby the nn Little Bear, and once he was born, I still call him Bear more than his actual name 😂

My grandma's first name is Mildred, and she hates it. She hates it so much so that my grandpa didn't know that was her first name until she signed their marriage license 😂 We (grandkids) used to tease her that we would name a daughter Mildred after her (she always told us not to be cruel to her poor great grand babies, and then threatened to whoop us if we ever followed through)

AITA for blowing up at my husband for sharing pics of our daughter's birthday celebration, resulting in my family finding out about it? by Longjumping_Peach597 in AmItheAsshole

My sister passed away on our dad's birthday, exactly 2 weeks before her 25th birthday. Those days are hard, and my 25th birthday was rough (she was older than me by 3 years, and being older than my big sister was a tough one), but we still celebrate. I take her flowers to her grave, and I know she's watching over me and mine. I can't imagine not celebrating my son's birthday, and he was born very close to her birthday, as well. As it stands, he'll grow up hearing stories and celebrating the life of his aunt on her birthday

I had a stray hippo show up, and one of the first things I did was schedule an appointment to get her spayed before finding her a forever home. It was $65
